P-cing it together: Carbonyl-decorated carbenes readily activate white phosphorus to afford carbene-stabilized P4 and P8 clusters. Mechanistic evidence suggests the cluster (see structure from X-ray diffraction: C gray, P orange, N blue, O red) forms by a [2+2] cycloaddition of transient diphosphene species.

Two 6-methoxy-4-oxo-1,3-diaryl-3,4-dihydropyrimidinium salts (2a and 2b) have been prepared as precursors to novel amino-acrylamido carbenes. Treatment of 2a (where the aryl groups are mesityl groups) with one equivalent sodium hexamethyldisilazide in aromatic hydrocarbons affords persistent carbene 3a, which has characterized spectroscopically. This trapped Ir(I) transition metal fragments well electrophilic carbon disulfide nucleophilic isocyanides. Infrared spectroscopic studies carried...

This study presents novel in-situ monitoring of the melting pool behavior and ex-situ inspection heat-affected softening in gallium metal using an ultrasonic technique. In laser welding additive manufacturing process, understanding pool's is necessary but challenging. Optical, thermal, radiational imaging methods provide valuable information are limited due to lack depth material properties information. An time flight measurement technique numerically experimentally used laser-induced pools,...

Very recently, the synthesis of 2D MoS2 and WS2 through pulsed laser-directed thermolysis can achieve wafer-scale large-area structures, in ambient conditions. In this paper, we report oxides from (NH4)2MoS4 film using a visible continuous-wave (CW) laser at 532 nm, instead infrared for thermolysis. The is prepared by dissolving its crystal powder DI water, sonicating solution, dip-coating onto glass slide. We observed intensity threshold MoS2, however, it occurred narrow range. Above that...

Abstract It is reported that chemical vapor deposition (CVD) grown bilayer (BL) MoS 2 films are significantly more structurally stable in ambient air than CVD‐grown monolayer (ML) have been to degrade air. The authors present atomic force microscopy (AFM) images of preheated and as‐grown ML multilayer after exposure for periods up years. AFM show that, air, BL thicker‐layer do not exhibit the growth dendrites characteristic degradation. Dendrites observed stop at ML‐BL boundary. Raman...

Abstract The present work highlights the role of halogen compounds in modifying shape InSb nanostructures, while maintaining a high crystalline quality nanostructures. One-dimensional (1D) nanowires (NWs) and two-dimensional (2D) nanoplatelets (NPLs) were synthesized by ambient pressure chemical vapor deposition. Our experimental results suggest that at critical growth temperature 512 ∘ C, NWs grow traditional vapor–liquid–solid mechanism when gold (Au) nanoparticles are used to initiate on...
