The enhanced hydrothermal stability of leather, imparted by little Cr(III), has traditionally been ascribed to strong coordinate bonds. However, this explanation falls short when considering that the heat-induced shrinking collagen fiber is predominantly driven rupturing weak H-bonds. This study explored source via adsorption thermodynamics using as an adsorbent. Eleven isotherm models were fitted with equilibrium dataset. Nine these aptly described Cr(III) based on physical interpretations...

Doping nonmagnetic Ga atoms into Fe leads to the enhancement in magnetostriction by \ensuremath{\sim}10 times FeGa solid solutions; fundamental mechanism of anomalous has attracted substantial attention. However, current experimental methods are difficult reveal origin because their inability electronic and atomic scales. In this work, we utilized first-principles calculations unveil giant solutions. doping results random substitution disordered $A2$ matrix formation $L{6}_{0}$...

A miniature, quasi one dimensional, magnetic field sensor based on magnetoelectric coupling is presented. The makes use of the d31 mode between a piezoelectric lead zirconate titanate tube and FeNi magnetostrictive wire. sensors demonstrate high sensitivity, signal-to-noise ratio, low noise floor at zero DC bias frequency resulting in smaller, lower power consumption, volumetric efficiency. Experiments indicate sensitivity 16.5 mV/Oe 100 Hz stemming from coefficient 1.65 V/cm-Oe. results are...

Wear and corrosion resistant properties of high entropy alloy coatings (HEAC) on H13 steel are particular interest for industrial applications. The CoCrFeNi HEA/WC composite (HEACC) developed in this study were successfully prepared by incorporating 10–40 wt.% WC into a matrix HEA using laser cladding an substrate. Phase transformation, microstructure evolution, microhardness, wear resistance HEACC investigated. According to the results, all exhibited higher than first increases then...
