Substantial broadband photoconductive gain has been realized for organic, thin-film photodetectors with a poly(3-hexylthiophene):phenyl-C61-butyric-acid-methyl-ester (P3HT:PCBM) active layer at low bias voltages. External quantum efficiencies upwards of 1500% were achieved when semicontinuous gold was introduced the anode interface. Significant also observed in sub-band gap, near infrared region where external efficiency approached 100% despite lack sensitizer. The response highly dependent...

P3HT:PCBM based photovoltaic devices with different active layer thicknesses (ALTs) were examined in photodetector and solar cell operation modes. The photocurrent spectra current density-voltage characteristics measured. All experimental results reproduced by the unique drift-diffusion model which excludes optical interference allows parameters of photogeneration, transport, recombination to be ALT dependent. characterization indicated a thickness dependence too. A conclusion was drawn that...

We report the application of perylenetetracarboxylic diimide (PTCDI) nanowires for sensing ethyl acetate. The conductivity crystalline nano/microwires increases quickly and selectively in presence acetate vapor, but not with water, acid alcohol vapors, suggesting that PTCDI may be used monitoring during a wine manufacturing process.
