Quantitative risk analysis (QRA) is a systematic approach for evaluating likelihood , consequences, and of adverse events. QRA based on event (ETA) fault tree analyses (FTA) employs two basic assumptions. The first assumption related to values input events, the second regarding interdependence among events (for ETA) or FTA). Traditionally, FTA ETA both use crisp probabilities; however, deal with uncertainties, probability distributions likelihoods are assumed. These often hard come by even...

Safety assessment of oil and gas (O&G) pipelines is necessary to prevent unwanted events that may cause catastrophic accidents heavy financial losses. This study develops a safety model for O&G pipeline failure by incorporating fuzzy logic into Bayesian belief network. Proposed network (FBBN) explicitly represents dependencies events, updating probabilities representation uncertain knowledge (such as randomness, vagueness ignorance). The highlights the utility FBBN in analysis because its...

Z-number is a new framework of fuzzy sets that combines with constraint and reliability. Managing the uncertainty an important issue in decision making based. In this paper, we first develop measure set considering influence fuzziness range (or cardinality) set. Some properties developed are presented. We then propose discuss method measuring Z-number. Examples used to illustrate effectiveness proposed methodologies.
