Palygorskite is a mineral used in wide number of industrial sectors. Currently, there are hundreds studies which palygorskite part different nanocomposites and bionanocomposites. The surface properties essential for these applications, this work, an in-depth revision done, showing that the high variability found cannot be explained only by impurities or differences analysis conditions. To further deepen knowledge palygorskitic clays, comparative study group purity samples also performed, new...
Rock climbing is among the outdoor activities that have undergone highest growth since second half of 20th century. As a result, cliff habitats, historically one least disturbed by human colonization worldwide, are facing more intense pressure than ever before. However, there little data on impact this activity in plant-communities, and such information indispensable for adequate manager decision-making. The goal study was to determine rock plant communities terms cover, richness,...
A mineralogical characterization of a group bentonite samples was done by X-ray diffraction (XRD), chemical analysis inductively coupled plasma mass spectroscopy (ICP-MS), and visible-near infrared short-wave (VNIR-SWIR). As tested XRD, all are very pure, composed mainly smectites with small amounts impurities, such as quartz feldspar. The results the show high contents Al2O3 in except for COU(V), which has Fe2O3 R4, is trioctahedral smectite. Within VNIR-SWIR spectra, absorption feature...
A detailed characterization of a group kaolin samples rich in some minerals the kaolinite was done. The mineralogical and structural conducted by X-ray diffraction (XRD) together with study spectroscopy response visible-near infrared short wave (VNIR–SWIR), main objective determination polytypes. XRD patterns according to polytype into five kaolinites, two dickites six halloysites. Diagnostic peaks for kaolinite, dickite polytypes halloysite were identified spectra second derivative SWIR...
