We consider an n job, one machine scheduling problem in which all jobs have a common due date. The objective is to determine the optimal value of this date and sequence minimize total penalty function. This function based on earliness or lateness each job selected sequence. present polynomial bound algorithm for solution along with proof optimality, numerical example discuss some extensions.

Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) is an emerging type of standardized inter-organizational information system. We analyze the impact EDI on upstream suppliers’ competitive position in a simple two-level hierarchical market structure where buyer faces linear demand curve and competing heterogeneous suppliers have upward-sloping marginal cost function. show that adoption can generate positive externalities for negative (or competitive) other suppliers. Economic lot sizing and batching models often assume reliable manufacturing facilities. In this research, we focus on the effects of machine breakdowns corrective maintenance economic decisions. Two production control policies are proposed for coping with these stochastic interferences. The first policy assumes that interrupted lots is not resumed after a breakdown. Instead, on-hand inventory depleted before new cycle initiated. Under second studied here, immediately breakdown, if current...
