The present study examines the use of pier slots and collars for reducing local scour at bridge piers. efficacy slots, different lengths angles attack, was studied through experiments. reduction due to placement circular collars, sizes elevations, also investigated. Analysis data from experiments as well earlier studies led an equation maximum depth around piers fitted with collars. applies uniform-sized sediment in clear-water flow.
This article deals with the numerical simulation of cracked plate using extended isogeometric analysis (XIGA) under different loads and boundary conditions. The formulation is done first-order shear deformation theory. crack faces are modeled by Heaviside function, whereas singularity in stress field at tip enrichment functions. intensity factors for numerically computed a domain-based interaction integral. results obtained XIGA center edge compared finite element method and/or literature types
Flume experiments have been carried out under clear water scour conditions to analyze the maximum equilibrium depth and processes in armored streambeds. A total of 85 using different diameters circular piers non-uniform gravels. graphical approach for dimensionless condition around pier streambeds has developed. As per this curve, variation with armor particle size depends on densimetric Froude number (Frd50), decreasing rate decreases value Frd50.
