In agro-ecosystems, fertilization practices are crucial for sustaining crop productivity. Here, based on a 50-year long-term experiment, we studied the influence of (inorganic and/or organic) and nitrogen (N) application rates (i) soil physicochemical properties, (ii) microbial earthworm communities (iii) production. Our results showed that organic carbon content was increased by incorporation residues (+2.45%) farmyard manure (+6.40%) in comparison to use mineral fertilizer alone. contrast,...

Helping biodiversity conservation with modelling Professor Guillaume Blanchet from Université de Sherbrooke discusses how can aid in the of biodiversity. The copper redhorse is a fish species found only few rivers near and around Montréal (Québec, Canada). place it known to spawn Richelieu River, commonly used for recreational activities (e.g. sport fishing waterskiing). In short, lives an area where there lot human activity. As far as we know, would be surprising if more than thousand...

Abstract In the face of climate change, more frequent drought events are expected in Mediterranean regions. Alley cropping is an agroforestry practice that represents a promising adaptation strategy to sustain yield productivity under drier conditions. However, presence trees limits intercrop by reducing light availability and competing for soil water resources, which could potentially exacerbate losses due Furthermore, effects co‐occurring shade stresses on annual crops still poorly...

In order to achieve prescribed drug release kinetics some authors have been investigating biphasic and possibly multiphasic releases from blends of biodegradable polymers. Recently, experimental data for the paclitaxel published by Lao Venkatraman [J. Control. Release, 130 (2008), pp. 9–14] Lao, Venkatraman, Peppas [Eur. J. Pharm. Biopharm., 70 796–803]. The present paper validates three mathematical ordinary differential equation models against their data: a quadratic one paclitaxel,...

The year 2030 is rapidly approaching. Building, monitoring, and reporting indicators to evaluate the targets in Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF) a major challenge that requires, at minimum, nations assess their progress least once within next five years. To effectively capture this progress, we need fast-paced, on-the-ground biodiversity change, alongside slower, more diffuse trends national scales. We gathered group of scientists practitioners how well common types cover...

The different facets of biodiversity Professor F. Guillaume Blanchet from Université de Sherbrooke explores the various aspects and challenge involved in monitoring it. During 2022 United Nations Biodiversity Conference Parties (COP15), Kunming-Montréal Global Framework was adopted. This framework has given prized mediatic attention to as a topic that needs be same importance climate change. Arguably, most publicized part defined by media around world 30 target.

Abstract Background End-of-life periods are often characterised by suboptimal healthcare use (HCU) patterns in persons aged 65 years and older, with negative effects on health quality of life. Understanding care trajectories (CTs) transitions this period can highlight potential areas improvement, a subject yet only little studied. Objective To propose typology CTs, including transitions, for older individuals the 2 preceding death. Design Retrospective cohort study. Methods We used...
