While the recent research in manufacturing bi-metallic structures using wire and arc directed energy deposition focuses on feasibility studies to understand material compatibility, study presented here encircles a larger design framework, integrating process, intermediate surface conditions, mutual (hatching) direction. The investigation addresses issues associated with actual shades light intrinsic mechanism responsible for process-induced anisotropy resulting interfacial strength....
This paper investigates a resistance spot welded reinforced adhesive (weld-bonded) joint between 304 stainless steel to carbon fibre plastic (CFRP), where welds are made both with and without the reinforcing fibres present. Successful present could only be produced high electrode pinch forces, which helped reduce contamination of weld nugget. Similar strengths were achieved in cases, however joints exhibited an increased strain failure. Both significantly stronger than either or comparable...
Wire and Arc Additive Manufacturing is a fast-growing technology that allows to produce medium large metal parts in both material- cost-efficient way. Because it based on existing welding technology, certainly an affordable for small sized companies. However, the integration of this prototype manufacturing still needs certain difficulties be solved, such as determination process parameters deposition strategies, programming software used, postprocessing, etc. This paper focuses different...
The work presents the results of laser surface alloying CuCrZr alloy by chromium and structural changes for two experiments: without with simultaneous forced cooling to liquid nitrogen temperature. A locally periodic structure has been formed on areas characterized an increased content a higher hardness than base material. Such can improve wear resistance creep layer at high operating temperatures.
