A new pathogen, Sordaria macrospora, isolated from damaged needles of black pine (Pinus nigra) causes discolouration, brown spots, blight symptoms, and necroses spoiling aesthetic value. Two species, C. ligniaria malacotricha, the most common anamorphs attributed to Coniochaeta species occurring on selected conifers, a Pinus nigra, are compared. Specific differences in spore size anamorph morphology between similar malacotricha could be confirmed.
During 2014-2015, samples from ten 20-25 years old pine (Pinus ponderosa var. jeffreyi) trees showing wilt symptoms were collected the Arborétum Mlyňany park. A disease was observed on 20% of trees. The first are wilting, stunting, chlorosis, and discolouration needles, which turned yellow affected twigs, then red finally they fell off. Isolations pathogen done discoloured tissues needles (twenty each tree) Potato Dextrose Agar. Colonies fungus (3-4 Petri dishes initially aerial, white or...
The similarity of and differences between the fungi Pestalotiopsis funerea (Desmazières) Steyaert Truncatella hartigii (Tubeuf) that damage needles host plants Pinus ponderosa Peter & Charles Lawson, coulteri D. Don nigra Arnold planted in Mlyňany Arborétum, were evaluated with emphasis on comparison morphology their conidia appendages. Conidia P. fusiform to ellipsoid, straight slightly curved, 4-septate 3 (4-6) apical sometimes branched basal cell was short, hyaline, obtuse thin-walled...
The first record of Coniochaeta prunicola Damm & Crous (Coniochaetales, Sordariomycetes, Ascomycota) as a pathogen Persica vulgaris Mill. described and illustrated from Nitra district, Slovakia. C. was isolated symptomatic leaves host tree based on morphological attributes identified for the time causative agent peach damage. is characterized by dark brown ascomata clothed with setae, fasciculate, unitunicate, cylindrical asci broadly almond-shaped, ellipsoidal ascospores longitudinal germ slit.

June During the years 2013-2014, complex mycoflora of Austrian pine trees ( Pinus nigra Arnold) was monitored within a survey on health state growing in urban environment. Nine species microscopic fungi were isolated and identified from samples collected different part needles during study period. This reports occurrence Asterosporium asterospermum, Beltrania rhombica, Camarosporium...
Abstract The diversity of fungi on branches and leaves ashes ( Fraxinus angustifolia , F . excelsior ornus ) in Slovakia was studied. Symptomatic material collected during the period 2013 to 2017 herbarium specimens previously were examined. In total, 30 fungal taxa (15 Deuteromycetes, 14 Ascomycetes one Basidiomycetes) recorded. Twenty-three them have never been recorded country. most frequently occurring Hymenoscyphus fraxineus (anamorph Chalara fraxinea that causes necrosis shoots...
Abstract Formerly, before the current Hymenoscyphus fraxineus epidemic, symptomatic ash twigs were habitually colonized by fungi occurring occasionally in early stages of diseases. Some these are endophytes or facultative parasites. The segments diseased shoots studied trees collected from a seed orchard situated southwest Slovakia. frequently isolated fungus Dothiorella sarmentorum was identified microscopically and characterized with aid morphological keys. disease symptoms comprise wood...
Fraxinus excelsior is currently suffering from ash dieback disease caused by the fungus Hymenoscyphus fraxineus. Co-occurrence of large numbers other fungi with endophytic as well pathogenic lifestyles has been observed on F. excelsior. In this study, new Fusarium spp. isolate Slovak territory, associated excelsior, was characterised. Using morphology-based approaches, assigned to genus Fusarium. The formed thick-walled hyaline, fusiform, slightly curved macroconidia, produced monophialides...
Abstract This study reports the first record of Coniochaeta on Laurocerasus officinalis Roem. from Nitra district. is for Slovakia and also Europe. The fungus prunicola Damm & Crous (Coniochaetales, Sordariomycetes, Ascomycota) was isolated damaged leaves twigs host trees. Morphological analyses demonstrate that velutina are distinct species.
In the present paper knowledge of evaluation health condition Castanea sativa (Mill.) in forest stands was summarised. It found out that fungus Cryphonectria parasitica (Murr.) Barr damaged coppices until 60 years. Degree damage (Ihc) evaluated localities ranged from 1.11 to 3.50. Between 1992 and 2001 biological protection orchards by method hypovirulent converted strains France used. This had not been used then. The efficiency canker treatment 38.9% 64.9%. On basis genetic variability C....
The health state of firethorn, Pyracantha coccinea, was evaluated in different types functional urban greenery at locations Slovakia during 2001 (34 sites) and 2002 (18 sites). occurrence scab disease, caused by the fungus Spilocaea pyracanthae, recorded. degree damage to firethorn fruits evaluated; it ranged from 3.6% 98.8% (2001) 9.1% 38.5% (2002). Germination conidia between 42 50% 24-25°C after 24 h, 49% 61% 48 h. germination collected on parts plants July September compared. Conidia...
Abstract The subject of this study is escalated occurrence the pathogenic fungus Camarosporium pini in needle tissue symptomatic trees P. nigra and ponderosa var. jeffreyi growing urbanized settings parks. C. induces severe infections initiates a blight premature loss second-year foliage pine trees. was identified microscopically on base morphological keys. affected needles displayed distinct bluish-grey necrotic band centre. On surface infected needles, there were formed pycnidia producing...
