Drought is the most important crop yield-limiting factor, and detailed knowledge of its impact on plant growth regulation crucial. The maize (Zea mays) leaf zone offers unique possibilities for studying spatiotemporal developmental processes by transcriptional analyses methods that require more material, such as metabolite enzyme activity measurements. By means a kinematic analysis, we show drought inhibits inhibiting cell division in meristem expansion elongation zone. Through microarray...

Carbonylation of dimethyl ether (DME) with CO over H-mordenite (H-MOR) zeolites from 423 to 573 K was studied by in-situ 13C solid-state NMR spectroscopy. The reaction monitored separately in the 8-membered ring (MR) and 12-MR channels zeolite under identical conditions. experimental results indicated that both 8-MR were capable producing methyl acetate product but remarkably different selectivities. At low-reaction temperature, surface acetyl species (CH3CO−) as stabilized acylium cation...

Abstract Drought stress is one of the major adverse environmental factors reducing plant growth. With aim to elucidate underlying molecular basis rice response drought stress, comparative transcriptome analysis was conducted between susceptible cultivar Zhenshan97 and tolerant IRAT109 at seedling stage. 436 genes showed differential expression mainly enriched in Gene Ontology (GO) terms defence. A large number variations exist these two genotypes including 2564 high-quality insertion...

Abstract β‐amyloid (Aβ) fibrils are the major species involved in Alzheimer’s disease (AD). An atomic‐resolution molecular structure of Aβ40 formed presence lipid vesicles was obtained by using magic angle spinning (MAS) solid‐state NMR spectroscopy. The fibril structures remarkably different from those solution. These results provide insights into mechanism Aβ aggregation vesicles.

The spatially heterogeneous nature and geographical scale of surface urban heat island (SUHI) driving mechanisms remain largely unknown, as most previous studies have focused solely on their global performance impact strength. This paper analyzes diurnal nocturnal SUHIs in China based the multiscale geographically weighted regression (MGWR) model for 2005, 2010, 2015, 2018. Compared to results obtained using ordinary least square (OLS) model, MGWR has a lower corrected Akaike information...

The replacement of all carbon atoms in aromatic rings with main-group elements to afford inorganic ring systems is highly desirable due their distinct character. However, fused polycyclic element are rare and the feasibility aromaticity such compounds has yet be explored. To explore rings, a stable di-silicon analogue bicyclic borirene, namely bicyclo[1.1.0]-2,4-diborylenyldisil-1(3)-ene 5 was synthesized from an N-phosphinoamidinato chlorosilylene 3. Compound consists bridgehead Si[double...

Plant defence mechanisms are suppressed in the absence of pathogen attack to prevent wasted energy and growth inhibition. However, how responses repressed is not well understood. Histone deacetylase 6 (HDA6) a negative regulator gene expression, its role response plants known. In this study, novel allele hda6 (designated as shi5) with spontaneous was isolated from forward genetics screening Arabidopsis. The shi5 mutant exhibited increased resistance hemibiotrophic bacterial Pst DC3000,...

Proton-detected solid-state NMR has emerged as a powerful analytical technique in structural elucidation via 1H–1H correlations, which are mostly established by broadband methods. We propose new class of frequency-selective homonuclear recoupling methods to selectively enhance correlations interest under ultrafast magic-angle spinning (MAS). These methods, dubbed selective phase-optimized (SPR), can provide sensitivity enhancement factor ∼3 over the widely used radio-frequency-driven (RFDR)...

Solar-blind deep-ultraviolet communication (SDUC) presents a promising candidate for use in short-range military communications. photodetectors (PDs) form up the core component of SDUC system’s receiving signal. In this study, an easy-to-integrate metal-semiconductor-metal (MSM)-type solar-blind PD is successfully fabricated based on β-Ga 2 O 3 film deposited c-plane sapphire substrates by low-cost radio-frequency magnetron sputtering. The device exhibits high responsivity 1.93 A W −1 ,...
