We investigate the effects of ram pressure on molecular ISM in disk Coma cluster galaxy NGC 4921, via high resolution CO observations. present 6" CARMA CO(1-0) observations full disk, and 0.4" ALMA CO(2-1) leading quadrant, where is strongest. find evidence for compression dense interstellar medium (ISM) side, spatially correlated with intense star formation activity this zone. also detect gas along kiloparsec-scale filaments dust extending into otherwise stripped zone galaxy, seen HST...
Context. After matter distribution and kinematics, the bar or spiral pattern speeds are next fundamental parameters determining dynamics of a galaxy. Aims. New refined methods for instantaneous scalar vector from restricted domain developed applications in N -body simulations galaxies such as Milky Way, which stellar coordinates become increasingly better known. Methods. The general feature used throughout follows fact that time derivative function is linearly proportional to its rotation...
ABSTRACT The effective potential neighboring the corotation resonance region in barred galaxies is shown to be strongly time-dependent any rotating frame, due competition of nearby perturbations similar strengths with differing rotation speeds. Contrary generally adopted assumption that bar frame should possess four stationary equilibrium points (Lagrange points), high quality N -body simulations, we localize instantaneous (EPs) and find they circulate or oscillate broadly azimuth respect...
Five newly observed transit light curves of the TrES-3 planetary system are presented. Together with other light-curve data from literature, 23 in total, which cover an overall timescale 911 epochs, have been analyzed through a standard procedure. From these observational data, system's orbital parameters determined and possible timing variations (TTVs) investigated. Given that null TTV produces fit reduced χ2 = 1.52, our results agree previous work, TTVs might not exist data. However,...
Electrochemical water oxidation is known as the anodic reaction of splitting. Efficient design and earth-abundant electrocatalysts are crucial to this process. Herein, we report a family catalysts (1–3) bearing bis(benzimidazole)pyrazolide ligands (H2L1–H2L3). H2L3 contains electron-donating substituents noninnocent components, resulting in catalyst 3 exhibiting unique performance. Kinetic studies show first-order kinetic dependence on [3] [H2O] under neutral alkaline conditions. In contrast...
Based on a high quality $N$-body simulation of double bar galaxy model, we investigate the evolution properties, including their size, strength and instantaneous pattern speed derived by using three distinct methods: Fourier, Jacobi integral, moment inertia methods. The interaction two bars, which rotate at speeds, primarily affects inner bar. When bars are perpendicular to each other, size decrease its increases. emergence strong Fourier $m=1$ mode increases oscillation amplitude On other...
Axisymmetric ring systems can be identified from the new catalog of collisional galaxies by Madore et al. in 2009. These are O-type-like galaxies. Head-on collisions dwarf moving along symmetric axis were performed through N-body simulations to address their origins. It was found that with smaller initial relative velocities between two galaxies, or cases heavier could produce rings higher density contrasts. There is more than one generation collision and lifetime any about dynamical time....
Motivated by the observations on intracluster light and intergalactic stellar populations, N-body simulations are used to model galactic merging events as a goal investigate production distribution of gravitational unbound populations (GUPs). Both parabolic hyperbolic mergers considered, each category includes six models with different relative orientations between two galaxies. Our results show that there more (about factor 2) GUPs after event than one. In general, depending orientation...
We present results obtained from ALMA CO (2-1) data of the double-barred galaxy NGC 3504. With three times higher angular resolution (~ 0."8) than previous studies, our observations reveal an inner molecular gas bar, a nuclear ring, and four spiral arm-like structures in central 1 kpc region. Furthermore, emission is clearly aligned with two dust lanes outer bar region, differences shape intensity between them. The total mass observed region (50"x57") estimated to be $\sim 3.1\times 10^9 \,...
N-body simulations of galactic collisions are employed to investigate the formation elliptical rings in disk galaxies. The relative inclination between and dwarf galaxies is studied with a fine step 5°. It confirmed that eccentricity linearly proportional angle. Deriving from simulational results, an analytic formula expresses as function time angle obtained. This will be useful for interpretation observations ring systems, therefore reveals merging histories
Aims. New or refined methods for determining instantaneous scalar and vector pattern speeds from a restricted domain are developed, applications in N-body simulations galaxies. Methods. The general feature used throughout follows the fact that time-derivative of function coordinates is linearly proportional to its rotation rate particle velocities. Knowing these allow retrieve speed by linear optimization. Similarly, if an invariant depends both on position velocities, then vectors space can...
Through the international collaborators, we recently established a network of existing and working meter-class telescopes to look for planetary transit events. As first step, focus on TrES3 system, conclude that there could be some level timing variations.
Abstract The formation scenario of ring galaxies is addressed in this paper. We focus on the P-type presented Madore, Nelson & Petrillo (2009), particularly axis-symmetric ones. Our simulations show that a can form through collision disc and dwarf galaxies, locations, widths, density contrasts are well determined. find galaxy such as AM 2302-322 be produced by scenario.
