본 연구는 대학생들의 흡연 실태를 파악하여 금연 정책에 활용하기 위한 기초자료를 수립하고자 하는데 그 목적이 있다. 조사도구로는 설문지를 사용하였으며, 연구 대상자는 남학생 460명과 여학생 394명, 연구기간은 2012년 10월 22일부터 29일이었다. 조사결과 남학생은 흡연자가 49.3%이었고, 여학생은 8.93%로 통계학적으로 유의하였으며(p<0.05), 부모가 흡연량이 많을수록, 그리고 학생의 월 용돈이 많을수록 흡연율이 높았다(p<0.05). 금연교육에 대한 필요성은 남학생보다 여학생이, 흡연자보다 비흡연자가 필요하다고 하였다. 흡연자들이 처음 흡연한 때는 고등학교(46.6%), 중학교(35.1%), 대학교(14.9%), 초등학교(3.4%) 순이었다. 결과 규칙적인 흡연을 처음으로 시작하는 대학생들은 가정적 환경과 금전적 고려에 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났으며, 기존 결과에 비추어 보면, 여성의 추세는 여전히 증가세인 나타나고 그러므로 대학생에게 흡연예방 및 금연대책을...
