Edible and biodegradable films for food packaging were developed based on starch (S) agro-industrial residues, such as potato peels (P) and/or quince (Q) peels. All exhibited hydrophilic nature, revealed by the swelling behavior, water contact angles, vapor sorption capacity permeability results. Films with peel most flexible, possibly due to presence of sugars pectin, that act plasticizers. The SPQ formulation film was chosen proof concept cured cheeses, during ripening, edible cheeses...

Equilibrium solubility of flurbiprofen, a nonsteroidal antiinflammatory agent, in supercritical carbon dioxide was measured by static analytical method the pressure range from (8.0 to 25.0) MPa, at temperatures (303.0, 313.0, and 323.0) K. The cosolvent effect ethanol bioactive compound investigated 18 MPa 313 results obtained have potential application processes for this drug. Experimental data were correlated with an empirical density-based Chrastil model.

Poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyvalerate) (PHBV) microspheres containing flurbiprofen were prepared by an oil-in-water emulsion solvent evaporation method, in order to develop a particulate drug delivery system for localized administration. A response surface method (RSM) using central composite design was employed evaluate the effect of poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) (%, w/v) concentration aqueous phase and PHBV organic on some resulting properties. The variables encapsulation efficiency...

Abstract This work reports studies on the production of eugenol-loaded microspheres by solvent evaporation method, targeted for incorporation into textile substrates, using different cellulose derivatives: ethyl cellulose, acetate (CA), butyrate acetate, and phthalate. The were evaluated in terms size, shape, thermal stability, encapsulation efficiency, eugenol kinetics release. CA-based proved to be best, thus being selected subsequent experiments. Comparable properties achieved ongoing...

The Pomeranian dog is recognized as one of the predisposed breeds for alopecia X, a noninflammatory hair cycle arrest disorder. Although it considered cosmetic issue unrelated to systemic illness, having pet with can be distressing owners. Sex steroid imbalance seems influence development but exact pathogenesis still unknown. some treatment alternatives are currently available results vary, well costs, risks, and owner adherence. GnRH analogs have been used extensively in modulation sex...

The measurement and correlation of the experimental solubility antimalarial artemisinin (Artemisia annua L.) in supercritical carbon dioxide is reported. Results were obtained using a static analytical method at 308.2, 318.2, 328.2 K, pressure range from 10.0 up to 25.0 MPa. Solubility data correlated with three density-based models (Chrastil, Bartle, Méndez-Santiago−Teja models) two cubic equation state (EOS) models, namely, Peng−Robinson EOS Soave−Redlich−Kwong EOS, together conventional...
