A new species, Styloperla starki Zhao, Huo et Du, sp. nov. is described from Jiangsu and Zhejiang Provinces of eastern coastal China. The species has a process on the basal cercal segment that bears pair small spines, with ventral, subapical spines. aedeagus male membranous, tongue shaped flat, bearing regular spiral striae inner sclerites several rows minute spines each apical flap. Additionally, we redescribe illustrate jiangxiensis Yang Yang, 1990.
A new species of the nemourid genus Sphaeronemoura, S. tetragona Du & Zhao, sp. nov. is described from Hunan Province southeastern China. The illustrated and compared to other similar this genus. Additional illustrations records for songshana Li Yang, 2009, multicurvata Li, 2020, grandicauda (Wu, 1973) are also provided.
Cerconychia Klapálek, 1913 is a genus of the Asian family Styloperlidae that included in superfamily Pteronarcyoidea. The currently includes five species mainly occur southern and northwestern China, with one also found Vietnam. We recently examined specimens from Yunnan, Hainan, Taiwan provinces, China determined them as C. flectospina Wu 1962, sinensis Yang & Yang, 1995, C brunnea 1913. place sapa Stark Sivec, 2007 junior subjective synonym flectospina. provide new images three to...
Two new species of Nemouridae stoneflies, Amphinemura oblonga Rehman, Du Zhao sp. nov. and Mesonemoura diqinga nov., are described from China (Yunnan Province, Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Shangri-la city, Gezan township, Langdu Village). Diagnosis, description terminalia, illustration terminalia appendages similarities with closely related provided discussed.
Two new species of Amphinemura were described and illustrated from Taiwan Province China: reni Du & Zhao, sp. nov. triquetra Zhao Du, The morphological characteristics the compared to related taxa. Additionally, a key adult males known China was given in this paper.
Abstract Deterministic and stochastic forces both drive microbiota assembly in animals, yet their relative contribution remains elusive, especially wild aquatic-insect-associated fungal communities. Here, we applied amplicon sequencing to survey the mechanisms of community 155 stonefly individuals involving 44 species 20 genera within eight families collected from multiple locations China. Analysis showed that diversity network complexity differed significantly among families, communities...
Abstract In this study, the mitochondrial genome of stonefly, Oyamia nigribasis Banks, 1920 (Plecoptera: Perlidae), was sequenced and compared with mtDNA genomes 38 other stoneflies two Ephemerae. The O. mitogenome is a circular 15,923 bp molecule that encodes large, noncoding control region (CR) 37 typical genes; these include 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 22 transfer RNA (tRNAs), ribosomal (rRNAs), respectively. Most PCGs initiated ATN terminated TAN. dihydrouridine (DHU) arm tRNA Ser (...
Two new species of Nemouridae, Illiesonemoura qianae Du, Zhao, & Rehman sp. nov. and Nemoura longistyla Du nov., are described illustrated from Yunnan Province southern China. The morphological characteristics the compared to related taxa images also provided.
Two species of Nemouridae are described and illustrated from the Nanling Mountains southern China, including a new species, Nemoura biplatta sp. nov. Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, regional record Amphinemura cordiformis Li & Yang, 2006 Hunan Province. The morphological characteristics compared to related taxa images with supplementary description A. also provided.
We examined specimens of Amphinemura from Zhejiang Province housed at the Insect Collection Yangzhou University. Among these specimens, we describe and illustrate oxyacantha sp. nov. Also found were relatively fresh chui Wu, 1935. Comparison with recent descriptions illustrations A. guangdongensis Yang, Li & Zhu, 2004 leads us to conclude that latter is a synonym chui. Supplementary description illustration facilitate comparison identification this species.
Mitochondrial genomes of three stoneflies, e.g., Claassenia magna Wu, 1948, sp. 2 and xucheni Chen, 2019 were sequenced in this study with 15,774, 15,777 15,746 bp length, respectively. Each mitogenome contained 37 genes including 22 tRNAs, two ribosomal RNAs, 13 protein-coding (PCGs), a noncoding control region (CR). In general, standard ATN start TAN termination codons evident the PCGs. Although dihydrouridine arm was absent trnSer, remaining 21 tRNAs displayed characteristic cloverleaf...
A new nemourid species, Protonemura longispina sp. nov. from Sichuan Province of southwestern China is described. The outer lobe the paraprocts with numerous long spines and basal portion divided into two lobes, distinguishes species all congeners. New images three other P. bidigitata Du & Wang, biintrans Li Yang, macrodactyla Zhou are given. Additionally, a key to adult males known provided.

A new species of the genus Amphinemura in sinensis group, xiangae Zhao & Du, sp. nov. is described from Nanling National Nature Reserve Guangdong Province southeastern China. The illustrated and compared to related taxa. New images with supplementary descriptions fleurdelia (Wu, 1949) curvispina 1973) are also provided.
Intraspecific morphological variability of four Styloperla Wu, 1935 species are described and discussed in this paper. The males each have variable specializations present at their basal cercal process, including the number branches or differing degrees curvature apical spines. A generalization on definition Plecoptera, especially a new concept conspecificity is also provided herein.
