An optically addressed parallel-aligned nematic-liquid-crystal spatial light modulator is developed for applications in optical information processing and interferometry. Its performance, including diffraction efficiency, measured, a theoretical analysis of efficiency performed. A comparison between the experimental results shows good agreement. The near-sinusoidal gratings written on device order 30%, which close to maximum.

Aim Several studies on the efficacy of ezetimibe, a potent inhibitor cholesterol absorption, in treating non‐alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and steatohepatitis (NASH) have been published; however, results are inconsistent. We undertook meta‐analysis to evaluate ezetimibe NAFLD NASH. Methods PubMed, Medline, Cochrane Library Full Text Database were searched until June 2016. The main inclusion criteria included original investigating use for treatment Identification published work data...

The isolation of minor isomers [84]fullerene (C84), five in total, and their characterization by 13C NMR spectroscopy, have been reported for the first time. vis−near-infrared absorption spectra these are also reported. results indicate that isolated C84 have, order decreasing abundance, C2, Cs(a), Cs(b), D2d(I), D2(II) molecular point group symmetry. In addition, we found another isomer adjacent to Cs(b)-C84 HPLC chromatogram.

Abstract Neurotoxic peptides from venoms of scorpions and honey bees exhibit a consensus pattern in the two disulfide bridgings related to sequence portions Cys‐X‐Cys Cys‐X‐X‐X‐Cys. A revised three‐dimensional structure charybdotoxin, as determined by two‐dimensional nmr spectroscopy, confirms that cystine dislocation generates all these toxins common structural element, i.e., cystine‐stabilized α‐helical (CSH) motif, which may be correlated with their ion channel blocking activity.

To understand the DNA recognition mechanism of zinc finger motifs transcription factor Sp1, we have determined solution structure DNA-binding domain Sp1 by NMR techniques. The consists three Cys2His2-type motifs. They typical ββα folds and relatively random orientations. From analysis performed comparison between structures here previously reported other fingers, it was assumed that modes fingers 2 3 would be similar to those Zif268, in which each recognizes four base pairs strictly using...

The imidazole (15)N signals of histidine 64 (His(64)), involved in the catalytic function human carbonic anhydrase II (hCAII), were assigned unambiguously. This was accomplished by incorporating labeled as probes for solution NMR analysis, with at ring-N(delta1) and N(epsilon2), (13)Cat ring-Cepsilon1, (13)C all carbon nitrogen, or amide nitrogen glycine carbonyl carbon. Using pH dependence ring-(15)N a comparison between experimental simulated curves, we determined that tautomeric...

We developed a liquid-crystal-on-silicon (LCOS) spatial light modulator (SLM) for phase-only modulation. The SLM was designed mainly wavefront control in adaptive optics, optical manipulation, laser processing, etc. A dielectric multilayer mirror incorporated into the device to enhance reflectivity. number of pixels 792 x 612 and their size 20 microns square. range phase modulation exceeded one wavelength, light-utilization efficiency monochromatic approximately 90%. silicon backplane...

A heterologous overexpression system for mesophilic Pseudomonas aeruginosa holocytochrome c(551) (PA c(551)) was established using Escherichia coli as a host organism. Amino acid residues were systematically substituted in three regions of PA with the corresponding from thermophilic Hydrogenobacter thermophilus cytochrome c(552) (HT c(552)), which has similar main chain folding to c(551), but is more stable heat. ABSTRACT Splice variants of certain genes impact on genetic biodiversity in mammals. The tumor suppressor TP53 gene (encoding p53) plays an important role the regulation tumorigenesis hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Δ40p53α is a naturally occurring p53 isoform that lacks N-terminal transactivation domain, yet little known about development HCC. Here, we first report HCC cell lines. In TP53+/Δ40 clones, clonogenic activity and survival dramatically decreased, whereas percentage...

Collagen model peptide (Pro-Pro-Gly)10 has a triple helical structure and undergoes thermal transition to single random coil structure. The temperature of the analogous peptides depends largely on amino acid substitution. Substitution Pro by 4-hydroxyproline (Hyp) or 4-fluoroproline (fPro) especially attracted attention because position substitution chirality hydroxyl group fluorine atom affect temperatures. Here, we demonstrated that (4(S)-fPro-Pro-Gly)10 takes structure, but...
