The use of Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carriers (LOHC) is one the potential options to store hydrogen. Today, vast majority compounds used as LOHC come from oil industry. Using biosourced would be a step forward in development this CO2-free solution. This article looks at candidates that can obtained biomass. special case formic acid and methanol, which do not fall within definition LOHC, also considered. synthesis alcohols, polyols, amines, aminoalcohols N-heterocyclic reviewed.

Colloidal suspensions of monodisperse platinum nanoparticles 2 nm diameter have been used to catalyze the hydrosilylation 1-octene with a polymethylhydrosiloxane. The were found be as efficient Karstedt's complex, showing that colloid formation from homogeneous species during reactions is not necessarily deactivation pathway. These results also reactivated debate on whether complex was truly or colloidal catalysis.

A catalyst containing small (ca. 2.5 nm) and crystalline Pt nanoparticles embedded into the walls of a mesostructured silica framework was found to be highly active in alkene hydrosilylation reaching TONs ca. 105. More importantly, no leaching detected. This result is remarkable because recurrent problem hydrosilylation, which often prevents heterogeneous catalysts from being used industrially. contrast significant observed for other Pt/SiO2 catalysts.

A critical review of conclusions about the putative heterogeneous mechanism in Suzuki-Miyaura coupling by supported Pd solids is reported. In first section, turnover frequencies (TOF) 20 well-established homogeneous catalysts are shown to be range 200 1,000,000,000 h − 1 . The evidences used prove a discussed and another interpretation proposed, hypothesizing that only leached species responsible for catalytic reaction, even at ppb levels. To protect urban areas, new environmental regulations have been adopted to limit the sulfur level in diesel fuel. It is well established that among all sulfur-containing compounds present gas oil, alkyldibenzothiophenes are most refractory achievement of deep classical hydrodesulfurization. Considering electron-rich structure alkylDBTs, we studied their ability form charge-transfer complexes (CTC) with π-acceptors order develop a highly selective method for specific removal from oil. Analysis of the literature on α-methylstyrene (AMS) hydrogenation reveals very large variations in reported reaction rates. The presence traces water and mass-transfer limitations make reproducible intrinsic kinetic determination difficult. Under anhydrous conditions, law was, nevertheless, determined under a wide range operating conditions: 0.5−100 wt % AMS, 0.1−0.6 MPa, 273−320 K, with an activation energy 38.7 ± 1.5 kJ·mol-1.

This work describes the development of easy-to-prepare cobalt nanoparticles (NPs) in solution as promising alternative catalysts for alkene hydrosilylation with industrially relevant tertiary silane 1,1,1,3,5,5,5-heptamethyltrisiloxane (MDHM). The Co NPs demonstrated high activity when used at 30 °C 3.5-7 h toluene, catalyst loadings 0.05-0.2 mol %, without additives. Under these mild conditions, a set terminal alkenes were found to react MDHM, yielding exclusively anti-Markovnikov product...
