Hybrid ARQ is defined as the joint use of a retransmission protocol and forward error coding (FEC) at transmitter and/or receiver. We will focus on HARQ-type-II protocols, namely type-II-CC (Chase Combining) characterized by storage combination erroneous packets, type-II-IR (Incremental Redundancy) which provides an Incremental Redundancy strategy that helps to increase throughput. These two strategies are used new mobile communications networks. The HARQ transmission performance depends...
In this paper, we investigate the combinatorial design of a new class One-Step Majority-Logic Decodable (OSMLD) codes, based on Balanced Incomplete Block Designs type Oval, which are derived from finite geometry. We show that constructed OSMLD codes provides high rates in addition to good correction capacities. Simulation results shows proposed converge well under iterative decoding with an efficient tradeoff between complexity and performances.
Non-binary One Step Majority Logic decodable (OSMLD) codes have several advantages over their binary counterparts but unfortunately decoding complexity is significantly challenging. In this paper, we propose two contributions. Our first contribution to use the Majority-Logic Decoding (MLGD) algorithm for non-binary cyclic OSMLD codes, since it involves only finite field addition and multiplication, in a majority vote, hence has lower than other algorithms, which seems be an attractive...
In this paper, the construction of non binary cyclic One-Step Majority-Logic decoding codes from dual domain and idempotents is investigated. This had led us to propose a new design algorithm based on Genetic Algorithms, as an extension previous works field. With proposed algorithm, we were able obtain long non-binary OSMLD with high coding rates good correction capacities. fact, two powerful properties algebraic are provided, firstly, designed have their minimal distances d <sub...
The finite Euclidean and Projective geometry codes are the most known among One-Step Majority-Logic Decodable that Low-Density Parity-Check as well. Unfortunately, these rare, we do not have a great diversity when designing communication systems with fixed code-length code rate. Regarding non-binary Euclidian projective geometric Codes, each is restricted to unique alphabet. To offer bigger range of possible alphabets for code, propose new construction by redefining incidence vector lines...
In this paper, we devise a non-binary version of the Soft-Input Soft-Output Iterative Threshold Decoder (ITD). This is continuation our work where devised algorithm upgrade non-iterative Hard-Output (TD), which itself an previous on Hard-Input Majority-Logic (MLGD). The proposed ITD showed improvement compared to its predecessors coding gains 1.5dB and 2.5dB were observed TD MLGD respectively, at bit error rate (BER) 10-5. decoder best suited for One-Step decodable codes with large...
