New stereoregular cyclic polysilanols of the general formula [PhSi(O)OH]n (n = 6 and 12) have been selectively obtained in high yields by reaction cagelike oligophenylmetallasiloxanes with dilute solutions hydrochloric acid at low temperatures. An alternative method was used to prepare cis-[PhSi(O)OH](4) from sodium phenylsiloxanolate, cis-[(Na(+))(4)[PhSi(O)O(-)](4)].(1-butanol)(x). All compounds were fully characterized NMR IR spectroscopy molecular weight determinations. The structure...
Sublimation of sulflower, octathio[8]circulene C 16S 8 ( 1), on heating under high vacuum approximately 10 (-5) Torr) leads to successive formation two modifications: a white film 1W) and red polycrystalline solid 1R). When kept at room temperature for several weeks, 1W spontaneously turns pink, reflecting the monotropic phase transition --> 1R. The accurate molecular crystal structure 1R has been studied using low-temperature (100 K) high-resolution single X-ray analysis. molecule in is...
The degree of π-electron delocalization in a series unsaturated N-heterocyclic compounds containing divalent group-14 atoms, (HCRN)2EII (E = C, Si, Ge, Sn), has been estimated by applying different experimental and theoretical criteria (vibrational UV–vis spectroscopy, nucleus-independent chemical shifts, isomerization stabilization energies). All the methods used confirmed aromaticity these heterocyclic molecules involving six π electrons, most indicated that increases going from silylene...
Polyacrylonitrile and polyheteroarylenes, such as polybenzimidazole (PBI) a polymer of intrinsic microporosity (PIM-1), have been employed to prepare nanoporous electrospun carbon nanofiber (CNF)-based materials for high-temperature proton-exchange (or polymer-electrolyte) membrane (HT-PEM) fuel cells. The CNF mats are obtained by Nanospider (needle-free) electrospinning method from solution followed pyrolysis at 1500 °C form self-supporting with micropores (D < 2 nm) mesopores 2–50 nm)....
Iodine doping of polyferrocenylenesilylene(germylene) thin films, [(η5-R2EC5H4)Fe(η5-C5H4)]n, E = Si, Ge, transforms them from insulators to conducting materials. The process was monitored by IR, Raman, and UV/vis spectroscopy occurs via irreversible electron transfer form ferrocenium ion centers with [I3]- counteranions. latter further react I2 [I5]- polyiodide anions in a reversible manner. A Mössbauer spectrum the doped polymer suggests that alternate Fe have been oxidized. Treatment...
In this paper, we investigate the structural properties of AlGaN/GaN heterostructures grown by metal organic chemical vapor deposition on sapphire substrates with different thicknesses using high-resolution x-ray diffraction and Raman scattering methods. We discuss microscopic nature spatial-inhomogeneous deformations dislocation density in structures. Microdeformations within mosaic blocks sizes regions coherent are determined. reveal a gradient depth distribution structure nitride layers,...
X-ray data obtained for germylene 1 evidence its monomeric structure, unlike that of stannylene 2, which had been shown previously to form a coordination dimer. Raman spectra solid and liquid are identical, whereas the 2 solution 2a differ significantly. The spectrum is complicated contains lines corresponding N → Sn bonds forming simpler close 1, thus pointing rupture dimer in solution. UV–vis exhibits band transition involving bonds. Quantum theory atoms molecules estimate energy this bond...
Aromaticity of carbene analogues the type C6H4(NR)2E: (E = C–Pb) has been established by Raman, UV-vis, ISE, NICS and ACID methods.
The aromaticity of three-membered monoheterocycles containing a group 14 or 4 element was investigated by using modern criteria: structural, electronic (FBO), optical (vibrational spectroscopy), energetic (ISE), and magnetic (NICS-scan, GIMIC). results all methods used show that the compounds are aromatic, with cyclopropene exhibiting σ aromaticity, whereas sila- germacyclopropenes X2EC2R2 exhibit pseudo-π due to interaction C═C π bond orbital low-lying vacant antibonding σ* X2E fragment (E...
Abstract This review covers Raman investigations over a wide range, but focused on the problem of conjugation with participation ordinary σ‐bonds. The results show that σ–σ in novel class polymers, polydiakylmetallanes type [R 2 M] n , M = Si, Ge, Sn, studied recently, and σ–π some organometallic compounds Ge long ago, both manifest themselves spectra qualitatively similar way to π–π polyenes lead significant increase intensity lines, corresponding stretching vibrations conjugated bonds,...
Solutions of poly(di-n-hexylsilane) in hexane, after aging for 5 days, exhibit on cooling two long-wavelength absorption bands at 357 and 368 nm, addition to the normal high-temperature band 320 nm. These UV absorptions probably represent different conformations polymer chain so provide evidence simultaneous presence solution three conformational forms. This is first time such an observation has been made a polysilanes perhaps any polymer.
Equatorial-axial isomerism of the tin(II)-iron(0) complex (Me2NCH2CH2O)2Sn-Fe(CO)4 (), which indicates that free Sn(OCH2CH2NMe2)2 () ligand can behave as a stannylene, has been revealed and studied by NMR IR spectroscopy in solution well Raman X-ray diffraction analysis solid-state.
Novel, hierarchical zeolites modified with both Fe3O4 and NixOy nanoparticles have been developed studied in the methanol-to-hydrocarbon process.
Experimental optical (UV–vis, Raman) and computational magnetic (NICS, GIMIC) criteria were used to study the aromaticity of group 14 N,O-heterocyclic carbenes tBuAPE (AP = amidophenolate, E Ge, Sn, Pb). The UV–vis Raman spectra monomeric compound with Ge shown differ significantly from those dimeric compounds Pb. reason for these phenomena is suppression in molecules 10 π-electron due partial filling vacant pz orbital EII atom caused by intermolecular coordination N→EII. forms all studied...

Poly(n-butyl-n-hexylsilylene) (PBHS) has been studied by UV and Raman spectroscopy as a function of temperature from 300 to 27 K. At room temperature, PBHS adopts hexagonal columnar mesophase. Upon cooling 250 K or below, complex first-order phase transformation takes place, leading three other forms: 7/3 helical form, an all-trans intermediate form with unknown conformation. The amount each depends on the thermal history sample. final transformation, conformation, does not proceed...
