Abstract Background Papaya is a major fruit crop in tropical and subtropical regions worldwide. It trioecious with three sex forms: male, female, hermaphrodite. Sex determination controlled by pair of nascent chromosomes two slightly different Y chromosomes, for male h The chromosome genotypes are XY (male), (hermaphrodite), XX (female). papaya hermaphrodite-specific region (HSY) pericentromeric heterochromatic. Physical mapping HSY its X counterpart essential sequencing these uncovering the...

Lipophilic compounds from Korean perilla (Perilla frutescens) seeds were characterized to determine the diversity among their phytochemicals and analyze relationships between contents. Twenty-four metabolites consisting of policosanol, phytosterol, tocopherol, fatty acids identified. The metabolite profiles subjected data mining processes, including principal component analysis (PCA), partial least-squares discriminate (PLS-DA), Pearson's correlation analysis. PLS-DA could distinguish all...

Seawater is often applied to improve crop quality by supplying minerals the crop. Due high salt concentration of seawater, one key factors for successful utilization seawater in agriculture would be optimal dilution ratios, which can determined physiological and genomic studies. However, studies crops treated with have rarely been investigated. Ligularia stenocephala, a vegetable medicinal [1], used examine changes response application deep (DSW) from 605 m depth. RNA sequencing was carried...

Papaya is a major fruit crop in the tropics and has recently evolved sex chromosomes. Towards sequencing papaya chromosomes, two bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) libraries were constructed from male female genomic DNA. The BAC library was using restriction enzyme Bst Y I consists of 36,864 clones with an average insert size 104 kb, providing 10.3x genome equivalents. Eco R 55,296 101 15.0x used constructing physical map male‐specific region (MSY) filling gaps extending...

Pistacia weinmannifolia has long been used as an herbal medicine for treating various illnesses. The genomic information of P. will help elucidate the chemical constituents that exert medicinal effects; however, studies have rarely performed. Therefore, we conducted a transcriptome analysis using Illumina RNA sequencing system. We obtained total 18 million high-quality paired-end reads with 2,230 Mbp.De novo assembly generated 18,956 non-redundant contigs average length 901 bp, which 18,296...

Nuclear Factor Y (NF-Y) is divided into three different types of subunits, A, B, and C. NF-Ys play crucial roles in plants for controlling gene expression associated with various developmental processes abiotic stresses, but it mostly unknown the downstream genes regulated by plant. One potato NF-Y genes, StNF-YA7, increased potato's drought tolerance when overexpressed under control constitutive CaMV 35S promoter. Therefore, was interest what are level StNF-YA7. To investigate transcriptome...

We introduced a multistep screening method to identify the genes in plants using microarrays and ribonucleic acid (RNA)-seq transcriptome data. Our describes process for identifying salt-tolerance response pathways of potato (Solanum tuberosum) plant. Gene expression was analyzed RNA-seq experiments that examined three lines (high, intermediate, low salt tolerance) under conditions stress. screened orthologous pathway involved salinity-related biosynthetic pathways, identified nine were...

This study aimed to generate interspecific hybrids between two remote lily species, L. hansonii Leichtlin and brownii var. colchesteri. Reciprocal crosses were performed by conventional cut-style pollination methods, but viable seeds only obtained when was used as the female parent, indicating that unilateral incompatibility exists species. In case of immature seeds, embryos with 2~3 mm carefully removed from testa for further in vitro culture, they grew normal plants. A total 343 progenies...

The aim of this study was to determine the effect relative humidity and air supply on physiological stomatal responses in peloric Phalaenopsis ‘Breeding No.522’ during acclimatization. Experiments were carried out four different conditions: 1) (RH) 85% without (RH85% Non-air), 2) RH with Air), 3) 75% (RH75% 4) Air). Plantlets transferred into a custom-designed container for acclimatization, which 10cc/min supplied continuously 10-day experimental period. lowest tip burn (20%) observed...
