Because of their unique surface plasmon resonance (SPR) absorption in the visible region electromagnetic (EM) wavelength, plasmonic nanoparticles (NPs) such as gold (Au), silver (Ag) and copper (Cu) are utilized to combine with another material devices. In this work, optical property exhibited by core–shell NPs composed Cu cores Ag shells (Cu@Ag) was investigated Discrete Dipole Approximation (DDA) method. theoretical calculation, at first, shell thickness fixed 5 nm core diameters were...
This study was designed to determine the effects of wood ash on physical and mechanical properties fired clay bricks. The bricks were fabricated with addition 0, 4, 8, 12, 16% by weight ash. Strength development brick cased at 900, 1000, 1100°C for 40 min. experimental results demonstrated that property strength depend content firing temperature. Higher affected an increase in porosity water absorption, while bulk density reduced. compressive increased temperature or a decrease amount....
The optical properties of organic solar cells with noble metal nanoparticles such as Ag and Au embedded in the active layer were investigated. The Discrete Dipole Approximation theory was used to analyze light scattering absorption efficiencies. The results show that size, refractive index medium amount are key factors directly influence plasmonic enhancements devices. These parameters adjusted for efficiency calculations, which first reveal imaginary part increases more (strongly absorbing...
The global minimum optimized structures of the free sensor 5-methyl-4-(2-thiazolylazo) resorcinol (5-Me-TAR) and 5-Me-TAR-Cu2+ complexes in gas phase have been investigated by using Density Functional Theory (DFT) with def2-TZVP basis set. To compare selectivity 5-Me-TAR for metal ions, binding energy various ions (Na+, K+, Mg2+, Ca2+, Ba2+, Mn2+, Co2+, Ni2+, Cu2+, Zn2+, Pd2+, Cd2+ Hg2+) were calculated at same level as theory. Binding values most transition are lower than alkaline earth...
Titanium dioxide (TiO 2 ) has attracted extensive attention in environmental and biomedical applications, owing to its excellent chemical photochemical stabilities, non-toxicity, high degradation capacity. However, the wide band gap low quantum yield of TiO limit practical it is possible improve optical efficiency sensitivity visible spectrum. In this work, theoretical calculations based on absorption core-shell structured Ag@TiO nanoparticles (NPs) combined with surface plasmon resonance...
