This study developed a pharmacokinetic model and web-based tool to distinguish true invasive aspergillosis from false positives caused by contaminated fluids. By analyzing galactomannan kinetics, were identified within 24 hours, improving diagnostic accuracy aiding clinicians in early decision making while minimizing unnecessary interventions.

The prevention and management of cytomegalovirus (CMV) reactivation is important to improve the outcomes allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation (allo-HCT) recipients. aim this study was analyze real-world data regarding incidence characteristics CMV infections until 1 year after allo-HCT under 100-day letermovir prophylaxis. A single-center retrospective conducted between November 2020 October 2021. During period, 358 patients underwent allo-HCT, 306 whom received Cumulative...

ObjectivesThis study aimed to identify the cause of false-positive serum Aspergillus antigen galactomannan (GM) results in our centre.MethodsWe performed a case-control aiming elucidate factors associated with GM results. Independent risk for were evaluated through multivariable regression analysis. An interrupted time series analysis was used evaluate effectiveness an intervention removing identified factors.ResultsAmong 568 patients tested, positive 130 whom 97 had (cases). These compared...

Abstract Background Antimicrobial resistance (AMR), driven by inappropriate and overuse of antibiotics, poses a significant threat, especially to patients with acute leukaemia. Objectives To evaluate the impact antimicrobial stewardship programmes (ASPs) on antibiotic use analyse temporal changes in bloodstream infections (BSI) caused AMR organisms. Methods We performed retrospective, interventional, longitudinal cohort study spanning an 11-year period. ASPs included optimizing use,...

Cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection is a serious complication in hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) recipients. Drug-resistant strains make it more challenging to treat CMV infection. This study aimed identify variants associated with drug resistance HCT recipients and assess their clinical significance. A total of 123 patients refractory DNAemia out 2271 at the Catholic Hematology Hospital between April 2016 November 2021 were analyzed, which accounted for 8.6% 1428 who received...

The β-tubulin (benA) gene is a promising target for the identification of Aspergillus species. Assessment clinical implementation and performance benA gene-based polymerase chain reaction (PCR) remains warranted. In this study, we assessed analytical BenA probe PCR in comparison with Aspergenius kit. We prospectively collected bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) fluid via diagnostic bronchoscopy from adult patients hematologic diseases. multiplex real-time sequential melting temperature analysis...

Chikungunya virus (CHIKV), responsible for a mosquito-borne viral illness, has rapidly spread worldwide, posing significant global health threat. In this study, we explored the immunogenic variability of CHIKV envelope 2 (E2), pivotal component in anti-CHIKV immune response, using an silico approach. After extracting representative sequence types E2 antigen, predicted structure-based B-cell epitopes and MHC I II binding T-cell epitopes. Variations key were further analyzed molecular docking...

Healthcare-associated infections (HAI) caused by multidrug-resistant organisms have emerged as a significant global issue, posing substantial challenges to healthcare systems. Low- and intermediate-level disinfectants are extensively utilized for cleaning disinfecting surfaces in hospitals mitigate environmental transmission of HAI. Therefore, the need more effective environmentally safe is increasing. This study aimed assess effect antimicrobial wipes used surface disinfection environments....
