This paper is about the optimal selection of process parameters for Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing technology, an emerging solution additive production metal parts. In particular, based on evolution microstructure and mechanical properties final samples obtained through successive deposition weld beads a ER70S-6 steel, according to AWS legislation. The feed rate heat input during have been varied, in order understand how temperature reached by can affect product characteristics. cooling has...

This paper compares conventional and cryogenic cooling in the deep hole drilling of carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP)/Ti stacks. Various parameters are taken into account to find if use coolant is justified by improvement final results. Both thrust torque were acquired continuously during machining operations compared both average distribution. The a brings reduction force without any sensible drawback. Overall results prove that suitable technology for CFRP/Ti stack drill.

Background: Titanium dental implants are today widely used with osseointegration mainly dependently on the implant surface properties. Different processing routes lead to different characteristics resulting, of course, in situ behaviors implants. Materials: The effect treatments, whether mechanical or chemical, morphology titanium were investigated. To this aim, various experimental methods, including roughness analysis as well scanning electron microscope (SEM) observations, applied....

Among the several additive manufacturing techniques, fused filament fabrication (FFF) is a 3D printing technique that fast, handy, and low cost, used to produce complex-shaped parts easily quickly. FFF adds material layer by layer, saving energy, costs, raw waste. Nevertheless, mechanical properties of thermoplastic materials involved are compared traditional engineering materials. This paper deals with composite laminates obtained Markforged continuous (CFF) technique, using an innovative...

Economic development results in increased traffic and higher loads that often cause serious asphalt pavement problems, such as permanent deformation, fatigue cracking, reduced lifetime. Polymers are seen viable additives to minimize these problems. However, their incorporation reduces the workability of material due increase viscosity blend. This study evaluates effect addition soybean oil on physical, rheological, thermal properties high-density polyethylene (HDPE)-modified binder. The HDPE...

Lock-in thermography is employed for non-destructive control to evaluate several aspects of industrial interest: inclusions spurious materials in both carbon-epoxy and glass-epoxy, impact damage delaminations occurring around holes during drilling carbon-epoxy, bonding improvements Certran® after plasma treatments steel modifications welding. Phase images are analysed find quantitative information characterization.

The flexural behavior of sandwich structures produced through the foam additive manufacturing (FAM) process was examined. FAM allows creation intricate foamed with varying morphology and density gradients using a physical blowing agent (PBA). This technology facilitates production complex, engineered parts made from single material intentionally designed different densities mechanical properties in various sections, as well enabling gradient structures. As foams are widely used industrial...
