This paper presents a coupled field‐circuit simulation of transients in non‐linear electromagnetic device supplied by electronic power converters (inverters, PWM systems). The eddy currents induced solid cores are considered. mathematical model includes: equation field, equations the electric circuits and motion. Numerical implementation algorithm is based on finite element method. For time‐stepping Cranck‐Nicholson scheme has been applied.

Abstract This paper presents and discusses the mathematical model of thermal phenomena occurring in axis-symmetric electromechanical linear motion converters. On basis developed model, software to analyze process heating up this type converters, was created. The effect thickness material slot insulation, as well speed runner on temperature distribution analyzed object examined in-depth. Selected results simulated calculations have been presented.
