The formation of craters is an important issue in the investigations surface earth and other planets. aim study was to check whether different textures sand beds affect size dynamics ejection curtain after high-velocity impacts. experiments were conducted using aluminium impactor at two impact speeds (~700 ~1300 m∙s -1 ) a bed composed either broad range sizes (<2.0 mm) or any three fractions obtained from it (<0.5, 0.5–1, 1–2 mm). diameters, depths, wall slope, rim heights resulting...
The objective of the paper was to compare values muzzle brake efficiency coefficient for a rifle with active or inactive automatics systems. Special laboratory stand designed investigating recoil process used. motion detected by use laser interferometer and optical camera. velocity time courses were determined smoothing differentiation experimental position records. results experiments indicated that in case an system two can be used calculation energetic coefficient: maximum final at end...
Paper presents results of the operational tests AKM rifles modified with commercial parts kits. Modifications were aimed at improving ergonomics gun. Among others, modifications included stock, fore guard, pistol grip, safety switch and trigger mechanism. Research force examination live firing which allowed to evaluate effects on rifles.
The preliminary results of comparative investigations on intermediate cartridges were presented in this paper. research focused mainly the adopted assumptions and verification methods. Pressure ballistic test barrels, manufactured according to NATO EPVAT standards, used for tests. pressure courses propellant gases barrel projectile velocity at four points bullet trajectory measured. impulses, R100 parameter 50 m average drag coefficient calculated each type cartridge. allowed a comparison...
Rifles of MSBS-5.56 system are equipped with a mechanism for an easy barrel changing, what was one basic assumptions modularity. But although possible even under field conditions (with the use tools), causes displacement shot pattern mean point. Due to fact that sights mounted on upper receiver, it is important this as small possible. In order determine value displacements point and construction parameters affecting them, series firings were performed using laboratory stand shooting range....
Results of tests, carried out so far for MSBS system rifles, have shown a large impact muzzle devices on spread shots pattern. In order to select the optimal design device, series firings were out, primarily with light machine gun and sniper rifle. It was assumed that weapon jump, which is also most easily measurable parameter, main factor affecting shot pattern at precision firings. The jump parameters determined by using unique laboratory stand allows measurement in conditions as close...
Results of tests on ergonomics the handles for RAWAT project rifles are presented in paper. The use past has brought many conclusions and comments concerning rifle as well. In order to cope with expectations customers it was decided modify reloading grip, deflector cases, trigger safety catch. These components were redesigned, fabricated by 3D printing technology be finally tested. modified examined testing functionality convenience using. contained handling firing live ammunition.
Manufacturers offer different types of ballistic barrels made in according to various standards. The paper presents comparison three barrels: pressure, velocity and accuracy C.I.P. NATO EPVAT Projectile velocities a several measuring points on the flight path propellant gas pressures were measured compared. main aim article is discuss whether all conduct most tests are needed, or one, universal specific caliber enough. Keywords: mechanical engineering, ballistics, firearm, ammunition...
