This paper presents a detailed analysis of automotive radar performance in real mine environment. An implementation lightweight Heatmap data pre-processing algorithm is proposed to improve received point cloud density and detection reliability. In conclusion, single-radar-based localization was successfully performed using lidar pre-generated maps as demonstration autonomous mining application.
