본 연구는 알리페이와 위챗페이로 대표되는 중국 모바일결제기업의 역외시장에 진출하는 push(추진동기)요인과 pull(유인동기)요인을 분석하여 역외 결제시장 진출 외에 다른 목적을 확인하고자 하였다. 첫째, 모바일결제기업이 국내 push요인은 경쟁심화, 해외여행객 증가, 중국정부의 정책적 지원이다. 모바일결제시장의 성장세가 둔화되고 있으나 중국에는 260여 개의 모바일결제 기업이 있다. 또한 매년 해외여행객이 증가하고 있으며 중국정부는 전자상거래 확대와 위안화 국제화를 위해 역외시장 진출을 장려하고 둘째, 현지 pull요인은 방대한 중국여행객 수와 소비지출, 홍콩정부의 완화, 전자상거래의 잠재력이다. 홍콩을 여행하고 소비하는 최대 소비자는 중국여행객이다. 이들은 모바일결제에 익숙하다. 그리고 홍콩정부는 2016년 모바일결제시장을 규범화하고 등 기업에도 개방하였다. 홍콩과 전자상 거래 기업 및 플랫폼은 각 지역을 공략하기 모바일결제기업과 협력하고 셋째, 현지판 모바일결제시스템이...
본 연구는 중국의 모바일결제기업이 홍콩에는 현지판, 마카오에는 직접 방식으로 진출한 요인을 비교하고자 하였다. 현지판 모바일결제시스템은 결제시장뿐만 아니라 소비시장, 금융시장 진출이 목적이며 직접방식은 중국여행객이 목적이다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 홍콩과 마카오는 유사한 결제구조를 가지고 있다. 둘째, 홍콩은 마카오보다 큰 규모의 소비시장을 GDP, 일인당 소비지출, 중국여행객의 수와 소비지출액에서 크다. 반면 3차 산업의 비중은 마카오 모두 93% 이상으로 높다. 셋째, 중국정부는 홍콩을 중심으로 마카오와 광동성을 연결하는 모바일결제시스템을 구축하고 통합발전 모델을 추진하고 따라서 홍콩의 모바일결제시스템이 마카오로 전이될 가능성이 향후 중국 모바일결제시스템의 정착과 발전이 역외시장 공략의 경험이 될 것이다.
