Ancient biomass is the main source for petrochemicals including plastics, which are inherently difficult to be degraded, increasingly polluting earth's ecosystem our oceans. To reduce consumption by substituting or even replacing most of with degradable and renewable materials inevitable urgent a sustainable future. We report here unique strategy directly convert DNA, at large scale low cost, diverse gels, membranes, plastics without breaking down DNA first into building blocks polymer...

The application of plastic film mulching can greatly improve dryland productivity, while the release toxic phthalate esters (PAEs) from has generated concern. This study investigated effects mulched and residual on PAE concentrations in soil-crop system assessed risks to people eating crop products. PAEs concentration 0–25 cm soil layer farmland was 0.45–0.81 mg/kg, average 0.37–0.73 mg/kg non-mulched decreased by 19%. reached highest July, being 0.80–0.84 soil, also appeared gradually May...

Abstract The James Webb Space Telescope ( JWST ) ’ s large aperture and wide wavelength coverage will enable it to collect the highest-quality transit spectra observed so far. For exoplanetary atmospheres we expect retrieve abundance of most abundant molecules, such as H 2 O, CO, CH 4 . Other S PH 3 , have been in Jupiter Saturn but their chemistry detectability strongly irradiated planets are largely unknown. In this paper, make first effort study spectral features solar composition...

Micro/nanoplastics (MPs/NPs) have attracted global attention for their potential adverse impacts on marine ecosystems. This study compared the of MPs/NPs with different sizes (70 nm, 500 and 2 µm) population growth, life-history traits, nutrient accumulation, metabolomic profiles in rotifer (Brachionus plicatilis). The results showed that 200 2000 µg/L 70 nm NPs significantly inhibited but μm MPs no effect. Moreover, μg/L had negative effects life span, first spawning breeding time,...
