This 2010 review of alien species along the coasts Turkey represents a total 400 belonging to 14 systematic groups. The present paper also reports first findings ofVanderhorstia mertensi in Aegean Sea (Gökova Bay), Chama adspersa Marmara andMya arenaria Sea. A 124 new was determined within last 5 years. Mollusca had highest number (105 species), followed by Polychaeta (75 Crustacea (64 species) and Pisces (58 species). (330 were encountered on Levantine coast Turkey, (165 (69 Black (20 Suez...
The compilation of data on alien species reported from the Turkish coasts yielded a total 263 belonging to 11 systematic groups, which Mollusca had highest number (85 species), followed by Crustacea (51), fishes (43) and phytobenthos (39). Black Sea is represented 20 species, Marmara 48 Aegean 98 Levantine 202 species. majority aliens found in were transported via shipping, whereas coast extensively subjected Lessepsian migration. Benthic habitats (soft hard substrata) comprise 76% pelagic...
Abstract Loliolide content was determined in 13 marine algae including red, brown and green collected from the Black Sea, Dardanelles Aegean Sea. Identification quantification were performed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. The loliolide alga is 1.76 µg g−1, ranges 0.14 to 4.35 g−1 red 0.18 4.83 algae. results obtained are same range as previously reported for algae, well terrestrial plants. This article represents first report of occurrence Keywords: loliolidemarine...
Abstract The coralligenous habitat was studied at the large Mediterranean scale, by applying a standardized, non‐destructive photo‐sampling protocol, developed in framework of CIGESMED project. results provided evidence to support following statements: (a) assemblage pattern is not homogeneously distributed across four ecoregions ( biotic gradients hypothesis ); and (b) does change significantly when information aggregated higher taxonomic levels sufficiency ). Surrogate categories than...
Abstract β-Phenylethylamine content was investigated in two green, five brown, and ten red marine algae by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry. found six but not detected the brown green studied. The highest amount of β-phenylethylamine determined Gelidium crinale (30.42 μg g -1 ). This is first report tested also to quantify algae.
The fatty acid (FA) composition was determined in 14 species of marine macroalgae belonging to the Chlorophyta, Phaeophyta and Rhodophyta, which were collected from Şile Black Sea Kepez Dardanelles. Generally, polyunsaturated FAs monounsaturated major components (50–77%). Total saturated ranged 22% 50%, with 16 : 0 as most abundant saturate (32–38%). Two samples Cystoseira barbata a different station had some differences each other their contents 18 2n-6 3n-3 2n-6/20 4n-6 ratios. Green algal...
The variety and distribution of red algae on the Turkish Mediterranean coast were studied. A total 226 taxa determined. eight that new records for algal flora Turkey are: Porphyra leucosticta Thur. f. undulata Schiffner, Gelidium affine Pseudolithophyllum lobatum (Lemoine) Verlag. et Boud. Aglaothamnion caudatum J. Ag., Anotrichum tenue (C. Ag.) Nag., Spermothamnion flabellatum Born, Spyridia aculeata (Schimp.) Kütz. Rodriguezella strafforelli Schimitz ex Rodriguez var. crassicaulis...
The presence and distridution of brown algae on the Turkish Mediterranean coast were subjects this study. A total 83 taxa determined. Stypopodium schimperi (Buchinger ex Kütz.) Verlaque at boudur. was recorded for first time records algal flora in Turkey. 19 are new Mediterranean.
In this investigation Bartin (Black Sea, Türkiye) marine algae were studied. Researched region is upper infralittoral zone 210 taxon determined. 10 of them given for the first time "The Algal Flora Türkiye" (A. leptonema, P. brodiaei f. ligulata, L. corticiforme, C. arborescens, S. oligosporum, secundum secundum, terminale, tuberculosa, barbata aurentia, crinita bosphorica).
