The genera Cratera Carbayo et al., 2013 and Obama 2013, belonging to the subfamily Geoplaninae, were recently proposed encompass some of species that belonged genus Geoplana Stimpson, 1857. Herein we describe two new occurring in areas ombrophilous forest which belong southern portion Brazilian Atlantic Rain Forest. are sympatric their type-locality. In general, both herein described match diagnostic characteristics genera. However, these features noteworthy when characters taken into...
The genus Choeradoplana encompasses 11 species, nine of which have a restricted distribution and are only known from their type localities. Herein we describe two new species Araucaria moist forests, C. minima, sp. nov. Lemos & Leal-Zanchet benyai, Leal-Zanchet, based on morphological molecular data, use markers to investigate phylogenetic relationships with other in the genus, including its species. Both analyses clearly distinguish nov., iheringi. ITS-1, COI sequence divergence data...
Petroleum is the major energy matrix in world whose refining generates chemical byproducts that may damage environment. Among such waste, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) are considered persistent pollutants. Sixteen of these priority for remediation, and among them benzo(a)pyrene. Amid remediation techniques, bioremediation stands out. The genus Burkholderia amongst microorganisms known being capable degrading compounds; its strains used as models to study ability. High-throughput...
This work proposes a deep learning and GIS based workflow to assess the influence of highway barriers on wildlife collisions. Our consists using Convolutional Neural Networks classify images extracted automatically from Google Street View determine type barrier, geoprocessing tools estimate parameters as barrier length location. The method was applied in real dataset, classifying correctly road-kill points with accuracy 84.44%. Statistical tests were used evaluate each road-kills.
