[(18)F]Fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography (FDG-PET)/computed (CT) imaging may improve assessment of radiation response in patients with head and neck cancer, but it is not yet known for which this most useful. We conducted a prospective trial to identify patient populations likely benefit from the addition functional radiotherapy response.

Scleredema is a sclerotic skin disease that typically occurs in association with an underlying disorder, such as diabetes mellitus, poststreptococcal infection, or paraproteinemia. Twenty-five percent of patients scleredema are found to have paraproteinemia-associated (PAS).1 A literature search 3 databases (PubMed, Clinical Key, Google Scholar) did not find case documenting the successful use thalidomide treatment PAS; however, single unsuccessful respond intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIg).

Hematopoietic stem cell transplant has been used in the treatment of multiple myeloma. Its use POEMS syndrome is still under investigation. We describe clinical course and long term follow-up a patient with unresponsive to standard chemotherapy. The had rapid dramatic improvement neuropathy dermatologic features after autologous transplantation. A review literature also presented. High-dose chemotherapy followed by transplantation potential option for patients syndrome.

Bebtelovimab is a monoclonal antibody used to prevent progression of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection. Complications SARS-CoV-2 infection can include cardiac effects including sinus bradycardia. We describe the case an 86-year-old male infected with who experienced bradycardia arrest immediately following infusion return spontaneous circulation obtained 1 minute chest compressions and administration atropine. His resolved, he was extubated on hospital day...

The widespread use of oral dose forms in disease treatment may lead to inadequate pharmacokinetic properties due rapid transit through the gastrointestinal tract. This makes it challenging achieve therapeutic levels situations where medicine is barely soluble. Studies have been conducted identify formulations that enhance these characteristics while extending stomach residence time, with gastro retentive controlled drug delivery systems being beneficial. study evaluates recent developments...

Abstract Background Pathogenic infections pose a significant threat to global health, affecting millions of people every year and presenting substantial challenges healthcare systems worldwide. Efficient timely testing plays critical role in disease control transmission prevention. Group is well-established method for reducing the number tests needed screen large populations when prevalence low. However, it does not fully utilize quantitative information provided by qPCR methods, nor able...

Rank aggregation combines multiple ranked lists into a consensus ranking. In fields like biomedical data sharing, rankings may be distributed and require privacy. This motivates the need for federated rank protocols, which support distributed, private, communication-efficient learning across clients with local data. We present first known methods using Borda scoring Lehmer codes, focusing on sample complexity algorithms Mallows distributions scaling factor $\phi$ an unknown centroid...

The refers to unknown number sites that may eventually mutate while point mutations across a population. be used assess virulence virus guide primer selection for real-time RT-PCR testing. Estimating different subpopulations accounting unseen also aid discovering new variants. To estimate regime, we use GISAID sequencing data our state-of-the-art polynomial estimation...
