Abstract Urban expansion is an important cause of biodiversity loss due to habitat destruction involving the replacement natural environment with anthropic infrastructure. However, recent studies suggest that harmonious growth cities could allow persistence biological diversity within them. Thus, some cities, especially those contain remnant forests preceded their expansion, harbor high levels biodiversity. These forests, i.e., urban (UNFs), are refuges for native species, providing suitable...
Here we reported the presence of a minute brown scavenger beetles (Coleoptera, Latridiidae), Adistemia convexa (Dajoz, 1974) in an urban forest located at Valdivia city Chile, collected using tree-trunk flight intercept traps. Based on this finding, distribution genus and species is extended 900 km towards south expanding association to Temperate Valdivian Forest.
