Our revealed that contamination increased flow direction due to increasing non-point pollution return flows agriculture. The 5-6 rings were dominant samples with an average 42 % 50 %, respectively. diagnostic ratios suggest these compounds originated mainly from petroleum product combustions. carcinogenic formed 46 55 total measured...
This work reports the removal of diclofenac, amoxicillin, carbamazepine, and ciprofloxacin by utilizing three commercially available granular activated carbons (GACs) (Activated carbon, Silcarbon, Donau) loaded with laccase. Adsorption was used to successfully immobilize laccase on GACs, as revealed scanning electron microscopy energy dispersive X-ray analysis (SEM-EDX) Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). In types GACs tested, pH 5, 30 °C, 2 mg mL−1 content were found be optimum...
This study examined the use of modified multiwall carbon nanotubes (M-MWCNTs) with immobilized laccase (L@M-MWCNTs) for removing ciprofloxacin (Cip), carbamazepine (Cbz), diclofenac (Dcf), benzo[a]pyrene (Bap), and anthracene (Ant) from different water samples. The synthesized materials were characterized using an array advanced analytical techniques. physical immobilization onto M-MWCNTs was confirmed through Scanning electron microscope (SEM)-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) analysis...
Due to the growing concerns about pharmaceutical contamination and its devastating impact on economy health of humans environment, developing efficient approaches for removing such contaminants has become essential. Adsorption is a cost-effective technique pollutants. Thus, in this work, banana peels as agro-industrial waste were utilized synthesizing activated carbon pharmaceuticals, namely amoxicillin carbamazepine from different water matrices. The chemically by phosphoric acid (H3PO4)...
In this study, pomegranate peels (PPs) as an abundant fruit processing waste was used to produce cost-effective, eco-friendly, and high-quality activated carbon. The produced carbon (fossil free carbon) for immobilizing laccase remove a range of emerging pollutants namely diclofenac, amoxicillin, carbamazepine, ciprofloxacin from water wastewater. loaded by (LMPPs) the unloaded one (MPPs) were characterized using advanced surface chemistry analysis techniques. MPPs found have porous...
Recent Iraqi battles against ISIS in 2014 and 2015 resulted the destruction or severe damage to several refineries' infrastructure. This, along with other factors, has led release accumulation of a wide range hazardous chemicals into environment, for instance, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH). Thus, first time, comprehensive 16 PAHs measurements campaign over course six months near oil refineries Tigris River its estuaries was investigated. The concentrations surface water sediments...
The olive stone is a large waste product of the oil extraction industry. present study investigates developing activated carbon from (OSAC) to remove pharmaceuticals water. Different temperatures and stone: KOH ratios were studied. OSAC produced at 750 °C 1:3 ratio was found have highest porosity surface area tested in adsorption process. Diclofenac ciprofloxacin selected as model contaminants. process optimized with regards dosage, pH, temperature, initial concentration adsorbate. be...
Abstract The Danube is a significant transboundary river on global scale, with several tributaries. effluents from industrial operations and wastewater treatment plants have an impact the river's aquatic ecosystem. These discharges provide threat to life by deteriorating quality of water sediment. Hence, total 16 Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) compounds were analyzed at six locations along river, covering period 12 months. objective was explore temporal spatial fluctuations these...
This study endeavors to develop cost-effective environmentally friendly technology for removing harmful residual pharmaceuticals from water and wastewater by utilizing the effective adsorption of pistachio shell (PS) biochar degradation potency laccase immobilized on (L@PSAC). The carbonatization activation shells were optimized regarding temperature, time, NH4NO3/PS ratio. step yielded an optimum PS (PSAC) with highest porosity surface area treated at 700 °C 3 h using ratio 3% wt....
Combinatorial drug delivery is a way of advanced cancer treatment that at present represents challenge for researchers. Here, we report the efficient entrapment two clinically used single-agent drugs, doxorubicin and sorafenib, against hepatocellular carcinoma. Biocompatible biodegradable polymeric nanoparticles provide promising approach controlled release. In this study, sorafenib with completely different chemical characteristics were simultaneously entrapped by same carrier, namely...
In recent years, enzymatic remediation/biocatalysis has gained prominence for the bioremediation of recalcitrant chemicals. Laccase is one commonly investigated enzymes applications. There a growing interest in immobilizing this enzyme onto adsorbents achieving high pollutant removal through simultaneous adsorption and biodegradation. Due to influence biomolecule-support interface on laccase activity stability, it crucial functionalize solid carrier prior immobilization. Date stone (PDS), as...
The current study deals with the biological response variations on some biochemical properties of freshwater green algae Chlorella vulgaris by exposure to different Mg2+ concentrations (5, 10, and 15) mg/L. Physiological parameters, including growth curve, doubling time, photosynthesis pigments, total protein carbohydrates were investigated. Moreover, enzymatic parameters such as catalase (CAT), superoxide dismutase (SOD), reactive oxygen species (ROS) also examined. maximum rate was...
The temporal and spatial variations of 16 Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) were examined at multiple sites around Lake Balaton from February 2023 to January 2024. results indicated that the concentrations PAHs in sediment high during winter months, 448.35 619.77 ng/g dry weight, low summer 257.21 465.49 weight. concentration molecular weight (HMWPAHs), consisting 5-6 rings, was greater than (LMWPAHs), which had 2-3 rings. total incremental lifetime cancer risk (ILCR) for both dermal...
The industrial and environmental applications of laccase, especially in wastewater treatment, have gained focus recent years. Therefore, developing the proper laccase immobilization techniques, which could improve stability enzymes simplify required downstream processes, is needed.
