Abstract Background Effective learning in computer programming courses has been a constant challenge for university teachers and become relevant competence current professionals. The literature on gamification presents mixed results, mainly due to problems instructional design inconsistency gamification. Studies with positive empirical results formative activities showing under what conditions is effective still need be included. Objectives This study aimed quantify the effects of techniques...
This study investigates the differential effects of gamification on learning outcomes, motivation, and usability perceptions in an introductory programming course, focusing gender differences. While has shown promise for increasing student engagement educational settings, its impact may vary across genders. An experimental was conducted with 88 university students randomly assigned to gamified non-gamified groups. Learning gains were assessed through pre- post-tests, motivational factors...
Women must be more represented in STEM careers, limiting their professional development opportunities. This study analyzes the effect of gamified software on women who want to learn computer programming. experimental investigated effectiveness gamification programming learning female college students. Thirty‐two students participated, randomly distributed into control (nongamified tools) and (gamified groups. The intervention lasted 4 weeks using Educaplay software, where group had access a...
On the Dial-a-Ride with time windows (DARPTW) customer transportation problem, there is a set of requests from customers to be transported an origin place delivery through locations network, under several constraints like windows. The problem complexity (NP-Hard) forces use heuristics on its resolution. In this context, application Genetic Algorithms (GA) DARPTW was not largely considered, exception few researches. work, restrictive scenario, GA model for developed based adaptation generic...
Agile software development prioritizes customer satisfaction through the continuous delivery of valuable software. However, integrating user experience (UX) evaluations into agile projects remains a significant challenge. Existing proposals address specific stages that apply UX evaluation methods but do not fully consider artifacts or events for processes. To this gap and support teams, we propose FRAMUX-EV, framework evaluating in using Scrum. FRAMUX-EV introduces seven artifacts: (1)...
The dial-a-ride problem with time windows (DARPTW) is a combinatorial optimization related to transportation, in which set of customers must be picked up from an origin location and they have delivered destination location. A transportation schedule constructed for available vehicles, several constraints considered, particularly windows, define upper lower bound each customer request vehicle arrive perform the service. Because complexity DARPTW, number algorithms been proposed solving...
The Probabilistic Traveling Salesman Problem (PTSP) is a variation of the well known (TSP).This problem arises when information about customers demand not available at moment tour generation and/or re-calculating cost too elevated. In this article, Hybrid Algorithm combining Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and Simulated Annealing (SA) proposed, in order to solve PTSP.The PSO heuristic offers simple structured algorithm which supplies high level exploration fast convergence, compared with...
This paper presents the design of an affective algorithm for implementing autonomous decisionmaking systems that incorporate emotional stabilizer mechanism use in stock market domain. Emotions have a direct influence on human decision-making processes. Non-deterministic behavior humans can be partially explained by emotions. In this sense, artificial emotion implemented as synthetic abstraction derived from observation studies related to stability and regulation. However, best our knowledge,...
Effective learning and achieving universal primary education has been one of the United Nations focuses on recent years. To this, we must consider effect lack interest in reading that exists part students at basic level [1]. The following work shows a proposal tool so can learn myths through ROLE type games. design pre-test tests, selected case study result obtained with test after development evaluative activity are also announced. results demonstrate substantial improvement by for which it...
This work presents the development of MABAP, a decision support system based on agent technology that helps in solving problem berth allocation for ships within port. The Berth Allocation Problem (BAP) regards logistics involved planning and controlling berthing vessels. A software architecture terms agents is presented; Berths Ships representing actors system, BerthRequest BerthPlanner as representatives berths process, finally Dock Central dock or pier. modeling was done using PASSI...
The threat that attacks cyberspace is known as malware. In order to infect the technologic devices are attacked, malware needs evade different antivirus systems. To avoid detection, an obfuscation technique must be applied so updated and ready performed. No obstant, implementation presents difficulties in terms of its required ability, evasion tests infection functionality turn outs a problem keep updated. Therefore, procedure proposed allows applying AVFUCKER or DSPLIT techniques. purpose...
In this paper an unsupervised colour image segmentation algorithm is presented. This method combines the advantages of approaches based on split&merge and region growing, use RGB HSV representation models. The effectiveness proposed has been verified by implementation using three different testing images with homogeneous regions, spatially compact continuous. It was observed that outperforms other analysed techniques requiring shorter processing time when compared methods.
Malware are the big threat within digital world as they have a highly complex technological structure that is capable of penetrating networks, obtaining confidential information from personal computers and corporate systems, even making systems critical infrastructure vulnerable. However, in order to achieve their objectives, need remain updated, so will not be detected by different protection which re primarily antivirus. This investigation proposes certain malware classification based on...
Gender has been a rarely addressed aspect in digital game-based learning (DGBL). Likewise, mixed results have presented regarding the effects according to gender and conditions that generate these effects. The present work studies of drill-and-practice mathe-matical game on primary students. study focused an analysis by gender, measuring performance, motivation practice activity. Also, two instructional mechanics were considered question answering, multiple-try (MTF) single-try (STF)...
This paper presents an affective algorithm to support purchasing decisions in e-commerce environments. The literature associated with decision-making theory includes the dimension as a clear human decision factor. In same sense, several models and proposals of consumer behavior consider both social dimensions very important factors that influence each decision. However, related work electronic commerce proposes strongly use rational main Our approach incorporation central component within...
