We discuss some aspects of the extension to continuous systems a statistical measure complexity introduced by López-Ruiz, Mancini, and Calbet [Phys. Lett. A 209, 321 (1995)]. In general, magnitude from discrete case is not trivial process requires kind choice. present study, several possibilities appear available. One them examined in detail. Some interesting properties desirable for any are discovered on this particular extension.
The time evolution equations of a simplified isolated ideal gas, the "tetrahedral" are derived. dynamical behavior López-Ruiz-Mancini-Calbet complexity [R. López-Ruiz, H. L. Mancini, and X. Calbet, Phys. Lett. A 209, 321 (1995)] is studied in this system. In general, it shown that remains within bounds minimum maximum complexity. We find there certain restrictions when gas evolves towards equilibrium. addition to well-known increase entropy, quantity called disequilibrium decreases...
X-ray magnetic circular dichroism spectra have been recorded at the ${L}_{2,3}$ edges of Co, Cu, Ag, and Au, $K$ Co Cu for a series multilayer systems partially self-assembled nanoparticles, both capped with alumina different metals (Cu, Au). The orbital spin moments ${m}_{L}$ ${m}_{S}$ their ratio ${m}_{L}/{m}_{S}$, determined from those measurements. trend increasing ${m}_{L}/{m}_{S}$ is same as found effective anisotropy ${K}_{\text{eff}}$ $<\text{Cu}<\text{Ag}<\text{Au}$ capped. It shown...
A two-parameter family of complexity measures $\tilde{C}^{(\alpha,\beta)}$ based on the R\'enyi entropies is introduced and characterized by a detailed study its mathematical properties. This generalization continuous version LMC complexity, which recovered for $\alpha=1$ $\beta=2$. These are obtained multiplying two quantities bringing global information probability distribution defining system. When one parameters, $\alpha$ or $\beta$, goes to infinity, factors becomes local factor. For...
The magnetic behavior of nickel modulated nanowires embedded in porous alumina membranes is investigated. Their diameters exhibit a sharp transition between below (35 nm) and above (52 the theoretical limit for transverse vortex domain walls. Magnetic hysteresis loops first-order reversal curves (FORCs) were measured on several ordered nanowire arrays with different wide-narrow segment lengths ratio compared those from homogenous nanowires. experimental response evidences rather complex...
The LMC-complexity introduced by López-Ruiz et al. [1995] is calculated for different physical situations: one instance of classical statistical mechanics, normal and exponential distributions, a simplified laser model. We focus on the specific value population inversion which presents maximum complexity.
A symmetrical cubic discrete coupled logistic equation is proposed to model the symbiotic interaction of two isolated species. The coupling depends on population size both species and a positive constant lambda, called mutual benefit. Different dynamical regimes are obtained when benefit modified. For small become extinct. increasing system stabilizes in synchronized state or oscillates two-periodic orbit. greatest permitted values dynamics evolves into quasiperiodic, chaotic scenario,...
The Fisher-Shannon information and a statistical measure of complexity are calculated in the position momentum spaces for wave functions quantum isotropic harmonic oscillator. We show that these magnitudes independent strength potential. Moreover, each level energy, it is found two indicators take their minimum values on orbitals correspond to classical (circular) orbits Bohr-like image, just those with highest orbital angular momentum.
We show that the Boltzmann factor has a geometrical origin. Its derivation follows from microcanonical picture. The Maxwell-Boltzmann distribution or wealth in human society are some direct applications of this new interpretation.
The magnetic response of nickel nanowires embedded in porous alumina has been investigated a wide temperature range, from 5 K up to 700 K. Hysteresis loops and magnetization isotherms were measured on samples Ni with different sizes morphologies the Curie temperature. At room temperature, shows evidences particle-to-wire crossover above an aspect ratio L/D = 4.3. coercivity high direction parallel maximum at T ≈ 400 K, while Hc decreases continuously increasing It is explained terms...
Different approaches are possible in order to derive the exponential regime statistical systems. Here, a new functional equation is proposed an economic context explain wealth distribution. Concretely, iteration [1] given by
We have computed all the orbit-forcing implications, up to period 8, in horseshoe-type flows or maps that generate strange attractors. The results are presented a horseshoe implication diagram. describe how this diagram was computed, and show it can be used construct minimal (basis) set of periodic orbits which force existence associated with attractor, any given period.
