In this article, we present experimental investigations using energy harvesting and wireless transmission to power structural health monitoring sensor nodes. The goal of study is develop sensing systems that can be permanently embedded within a host structure without the need for an on-board source. With approach required will harvested from ambient environment, or periodically delivered by radio-frequency source supplement conventional approaches. This combines several transducer types...
Purpose of the Study: To evaluate impact rural geographic location on nursing home quality care in United States. Design and Methods: The study used cross-sectional observational design. We obtained resident- facility-level data from 12,507 residents 1,174 homes 2004 National Nursing Home Survey. multilevel regression models to predict risk-adjusted rates hospitalization, influenza pneumococcal vaccination, moderate severe pain while controlling for resident facility characteristics....
College students with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) often experience increased academic difficulties, which can negatively impact graduation rates, employment, self-esteem, and mental health. ADHD coaching assists to reduce such difficulties. The present study evaluated the processes involved in by examining undergraduate graduate level (n = 23) who attended individualized sessions for 8 weeks. Specifically, examined types of goals established, use weekly objectives (tasks...
This paper presents a modeling approach for simulating the anisotropic thermal expansion of polycrystalline (1,3,5-triamino-2,4,6-trinitrobenzene) TATB-based explosives which utilizes microstructural information including porosity, crystal aspect ratio and processing-induced texture. A self-consistent homogenization procedure is used to relate macroscopic thermoelastic response constitutive behavior single-crystal TATB. The model includes representation grain ratio, porosity and,...
Abstract A general framework to derive nonlinear elastic and elastoplastic material models from granular micromechanics is proposed, where a constraint‐based variational structure introduced classical grain contact‐based homogenization methods of hyperelasticity. Like the hyperelastic methods, reference solutions for closed‐form are analytically derived grain‐scale contact mechanics. However, unlike prior proposed defines hyperelastoplastic that extend multiscale plasticity. The used develop...
Abstract A micromorphic filter is presented for the extraction of stress and deformation measures from underlying direct numerical simulation (DNS) microstructural mechanical response. The consistent with continuum theory Eringen Suhubi (1964), allows interrogation a DNS to generate higher order constitutive models. adopts aspects overlap coupling techniques atomistic‐continuum scale‐bridging in update nodal degrees freedom finite‐element‐based filter. Two methods quantities interest are...
This paper demonstrates the effects of texture induced during pressing PBX 9502 charges. We quantify spatially variable anisotropic thermal strains associated with preferred orientation TATB crystallographic (002) poles within manufactured components. The modeling approach is based on a series three models. First, component-level finite element model charge consolidation from powder into pressed explosives used to predict deformation this process. predicted these simulations evolution...
Objective: The purpose of this study was to reexamine the latent structure ADHD and sluggish cognitive tempo (SCT) due issues with construct validity. Two proposed changes include viewing hyperactivity sluggishness (hypoactivity) as a single continuum activity level, inattention separate dimension from level. Method: Data were collected 1,398 adults using Amazon’s MTurk. A new scale measuring level developed, scores Inattention regressed onto Activity Level curvilinear regression. Results:...

The effects of exposure poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) to various chemical solutions has been investigated. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was used examine the exposed samples for signs attack and cracking, while tensile flexural bend tests were determine on mechanical properties. Samples 50% sodium hydroxide exhibited both cracking together with a significant loss in ductility. Exposure 16% hypochlorite concentrated sulphuric acid did not give either or but cause From results obtained...
