Abstract On the NASA 2020 rover mission to Jezero crater, remote determination of texture, mineralogy and chemistry rocks is essential quickly thoroughly characterize an area optimize selection samples for return Earth. As part Perseverance payload, SuperCam a suite five techniques that provide critical complementary observations via Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS), Time-Resolved Raman Luminescence (TRR/L), visible near-infrared spectroscopy (VISIR), high-resolution color imaging...
This paper suggests that the potentiometric detection of sulfur oxides in air is feasible with solid‐sulfate electrolytes, and presents experimental results on electrode Pt, , . Several parameters, namely,, temperature, flow rate, are studied concentration cells using potassium sulfate, as electrolyte. A solid reference based an Ag/Ag+ electrochemical couple also a replacement for gas electrode. The authors conclude rapid conversion several gaseous compounds, namely, etc., into occurs under...
An examination of the electrochemical performance solid‐state lithium‐ion batteries was carried out using a solvent‐free solid‐polymer electrolyte at 60°C. We studied two different types anode (negative electrode) material: graphite intercalation compound (GIC) or lithium‐titanium oxide , and used as cathode (positive electrode). Natural carbon fiber gave high reversible capacities about 372 300 mAh/g, respectively. A vs. lithium cell discharged C/15 rate delivered 155 mAh/g corresponding to...
No carbon added: Using the intrinsic oxidative power of LiFePO4/FePO4 combined with reinsertion lithium ions, formation conducting polymer poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) at solid surface is demonstrated (see picture). The resulting composites have very promising electrochemical properties in rechargeable batteries; particular, they allow for elimination additives.
The structural properties of microcrystalline prepared with and without carbon coating are analyzed X-ray diffraction spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared Raman magnetic measurements for comparison. While nanosized ferromagnetic particles ( clusters) evidenced from in samples coating, such clusters just do not exist the carbon-coated sample. Ferromagnetic resonance experiments a probe nanoparticles, magnetization as well, allowing quantitative estimate amount . fraction iron...
Comparison is made between the use of either a carbon powder or polymer additive to precursors in synthesis LiFePO4 from Fe(III) compound FePO4(H2O)2 and Li2CO3. The evolution structural properties phase purity with temperature time have been monitored at all length scales by X-ray diffraction, Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy, magnetic susceptibility. reactor was decreased 300 °C investigate early stages reaction. Formation crystalline begins range 300−400 only if used as...
The feasibility of polyether‐based all‐solid‐state cells has been assessed in a joint research and development program. At 80°–100°C, using or positive‐electrode material excess lithium show high utilization at 0.5–1.0 mA/cm2 can be cycled more than 250 times. Furthermore, new family polyether electrolytes found that allows room temperature (26°C) operation 3–20 μA/cm2.
A porous composite of LiFePO4/nitrogen-doped carbon nanotubes (N-CNTs) with hierarchical structure was prepared by a sol–gel method without templates or surfactants. Highly conductive and uniformly dispersed N-CNTs incorporated into three dimensional interlaced LiFePO4 can facilitate the electronic lithium ion diffusion rate. The LiFePO4/N-CNTs composites deliver reversible discharge capacity 138 mA h g−1 at current density 17 while LiFePO4/CNTs only 113 g−1, demonstrating modified act as...
A structural peculiarity of the electronic topological transition (ETT) occurring within pressure stability range low-pressure rhombohedral phase I has been evidenced in Bi${}_{2}$Te${}_{3}$. On both sides ETT structure remains unchanged. Nevertheless, precise investigation x-ray diffraction patterns allows us to conclude that this obeys lamellar character compound but a counterintuitive way. Indeed, signature can be detected only layers' plane variation lattice parameter $a$ with 25%...
Compressibility, optical-absorption, Raman-scattering, and refractive-index measurements for GaSe are reported at 300 K pressures up to 8 GPa. A model which separates intra- interlayer contributions along the c axis is used, with adequate deformation potentials, quantitatively reproduce compressibility axis, variation, shift of both direct indirect gaps under pressure. The shape absorption edges calculated by Elliott-Toyozawa formalism all pressures, between 1.6 2.4 eV, only one constant,...
Using angle-dispersive x-ray powder diffraction and image plate detector, the equations of state ${\mathrm{H}}_{2}\mathrm{O}$ ${\mathrm{D}}_{2}\mathrm{O}$ ice VII, corrected for deviatoric strain, were determined up to 106 GPa, 60 respectively. Our data analyzed on basis universal equation Vinet et al. This treatment indicates occurrence two second- or higher-order phase transitions at about 15 66 in agreement with pressure ranges where nature proton disorder is expected change.
An electrochemical cell using a solid electrolyte has been employed as gas probe to measure the equilibrium partial pressure of carbon dioxide in air mixtures at 1 atm total temperature range 575–1025 K. Stable reversible emf's have obtained containing little 9 ppm air. The carbonate also used standard Gibbs energy change associated with dissociation calcium into oxide and 725–975 thermodynamic results are good agreement published data from literature, thus validating use probe.
The purpose of this article is to describe and analyze the performance four different reference electrodes adapted for use in solid‐state sulfate detectors sulfur oxides: an electrode which a calibrated gas circulates, Ag/Ag+ electrode, oxygen using air as and, finally, thermal‐decomposition type couple. also contains description quartz detector hot‐gas analysis mixtures shows how fact replacing platinum at by less catalytic metal such gold can lead specific detection presence .
This paper describes an extended application of potentiometric solid‐state detectors for measuring oxides in oxygen‐variable gases. The , system examined Part I oxide detection air is studied here with respect to the total sulfur and oxygen partial pressures. A study experimental parameters, operating temperatures, partial‐pressure range revealed possibility a simple method compensating effect pressure on signal from detector. An entirely device consisting potassium‐sulfate detector,...
