Multimodal named entity recognition and relation extraction (MNER MRE) is a fundamental crucial branch in information extraction. However, existing approaches for MNER MRE usually suffer from error sensitivity when irrelevant object images incorporated texts. To deal with these issues, we propose novel Hierarchical Visual Prefix fusion NeTwork (HVPNeT) visual-enhanced extraction, aiming to achieve more effective robust performance. Specifically, regard visual representation as pluggable...

This survey addresses the crucial issue of factuality in Large Language Models (LLMs). As LLMs find applications across diverse domains, reliability and accuracy their outputs become vital. We define Factuality Issue as probability to produce content inconsistent with established facts. first delve into implications these inaccuracies, highlighting potential consequences challenges posed by factual errors LLM outputs. Subsequently, we analyze mechanisms through which store process facts,...

Large Language Models (LLMs) have shown extraordinary capabilities in understanding and generating text that closely mirrors human communication. However, a primary limitation lies the significant computational demands during training, arising from their extensive parameterization. This challenge is further intensified by dynamic nature of world, necessitating frequent updates to LLMs correct outdated information or integrate new knowledge, thereby ensuring continued relevance. Note many...

This paper presents an exhaustive quantitative and qualitative evaluation of Large Language Models (LLMs) for Knowledge Graph (KG) construction reasoning. We engage in experiments across eight diverse datasets, focusing on four representative tasks encompassing entity relation extraction, event link prediction, question-answering, thereby thoroughly exploring LLMs' performance the domain inference. Empirically, our findings suggest that LLMs, represented by GPT-4, are more suited as...

Despite exceptional capabilities in knowledge-intensive tasks, Large Language Models (LLMs) face a critical gap understanding how they internalize new knowledge, particularly to structurally embed acquired knowledge their neural computations. We address this issue through the lens of circuit evolution, identifying computational subgraphs that facilitate storage and processing. Our systematic analysis evolution throughout continual pre-training reveals several key findings: (1) acquisition is...

A new species of Psyllipsocidae, Concavapsocus valvaculeiformus sp. nov., is described from mid-Cretaceous Kachin amber in Myanmar. The key diagnostic distinctions separating the its congeners encompass: 1) presence/absence ecdysial cleavage line and paraproct anal spine; 2) number apical teeth on lacinia; 3) morphological characteristics female ovipositor valves. This discovery underscores necessity for revising generic diagnosis Concavapsocus, provides an updated to genera Psyllipsocidae.

Antennae are important, insect sensory organs that used principally for communication with other insects and the detection of environmental cues. Some independently evolved ramified (branched) antennae, which house several types sensilla motion detection, sensing olfactory chemical cues, determining humidity temperature levels. Though antennae common in living insects, occasionally they present Mesozoic fossil record. Here, we first caddisflies earliest known sawfly, a scorpionfly also from...
