We present an analysis of \textit{HST}/COS/G160M observations CIV in the inner circumgalactic medium (CGM) a novel sample eight z$\sim$0, L$\approx$L$^{\star}$ galaxies, paired with UV-bright QSOs at impact parameters ($R_\mathrm{proj}$) between 25-130 kpc. The galaxies this stellar-mass-controlled (log$_{10}$M$_{\star}$/M$_{\odot}$ $\sim$ 10.2-10.9 M$_{\odot}$) host super-massive black holes (SMBHs) dynamically-measured masses spanning log$_{10}$M$_\mathrm{BH}$/M$_{\odot}$ 6.8-8.4; allows...
This paper investigates C IV absorption in the circumgalactic medium (CGM) of L* galaxies and its relationship with galaxy star formation rates. We present new observations from survey (CIViL*; PID$\#$17076) using Hubble Space Telescope/Cosmic Origins Spectrograph. By combining these measurements archival data (46 total), we estimate detection fractions for star-forming (sSFR $>$ 10$^{-11}$ yr$^{-1}$) passive $\leq$ to be 72$_{-18}^{+14}$\% [21/29] 23$_{-15}^{+27}$\% [3/13], respectively....

Known exoplanets not only provide excellent targets for students who are learning to acquire data with remote observatories and process the but also fulfill a scientific need repeated measurements determine stability of known parameters. We present recent taken by undergraduate remotely accessed telescope at Dark Skies Observatory Collaborative in West Texas on two well-studied exoplanets. WASP 43b has published orbital period 0.81347753 days its host K7V star visual magnitude 12.4. HD...
