Relaxor-lead titanate (PbTiO3) crystals, which exhibit extremely high piezoelectricity, are believed to possess electro-optic (EO) coefficients. A 5 kHz sub-nanosecond master oscillator power amplifier (MOPA) laser system was reported in this paper. The an electro-optically Q-switched Nd:YVO4 directly pumped at 879 nm, yielding a pulse energy of 520 µJ and width 900 ps kHz. With two amplifiers 914 the further scaled up. Under absorbed pump 11.0 mJ, amplified to 4.2 corresponding peak 4.7 MW. optical-to-optical efficiency reached 33.5%.
