Zinc-finger, MYND-type containing 10 (ZMYND10), or more commonly called BLU, expression is frequently downregulated in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) and many other tumors due to promoter hypermethylation. Functional evidence shows that the BLU gene inhibits tumor growth animal assays, but detailed molecular mechanism responsible for this still not well understood. In current studies, we find 93.5% of early-stage primary NPC show expression. Using a PCR array, overexpression was correlated...

We presented an unusual case of hematuria caused by a solitary bladder metastasis from lung adenocarcinoma. A confident diagnosis secondary adenocarcinoma the was made clinical suspicion based on patient's past history, careful examination tumor morphology, and directed panel (cytokeratin [CK] 7/CK20/thyroid transcription factor 1) immunohistochemistry. sought, through sharing our experience in investigative diagnostic process, to contribute better understanding this cause hematuria.

To identify factors predicting bone mineral loss during anticancer chemotherapy.Fifteen women (mean age 38.2 +/- 7.8 years; range 30-46 years) with ovarian cancer who had been treated cisplatin-adriamycin-cyclophosphamide for six cycles every 4 weeks following surgical cytoreductin were studied. Bone density (BMD) of the lumbar spine (L2-L4) was measured by dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry before and after chemotherapy. Fifteen age-matched whose ovaries removed surgically other reasons....

Background: Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infections of skin and soft tissues are an increasing concern in hospital community settings. Whether newer agents like linezolid offer efficacy, safety or cost advantages over traditional first line treatment with vancomycin is not known. We conducted a systematic review meta-analysis to assess the efficacy compared hospitalized patients presumed MRSA tissue. Methods: In October 2009, we searched MEDLINE (1950-2009), Web Science...
