Abstract Background Surgical management of scaphoid nonunions requires not only stable fixation but restoration carpal alignment and reconstruction bone defects. The latter can be done with either vascularized or non-vascularized grafts, depending largely on surgeon preference. Materials Methods This article describes the use grafts for examines reported outcomes. We also describe senior author's preferred surgical treatment, hybrid Russe procedure. Description Technique procedure utilizes a...

Case: We present 2 cases of spontaneous index finger (IF) flexor tendon ruptures because previously undiagnosed osteonecrosis (OA) the capitate. Imaging revealed fragmentation capitate, and patients were treated with excision or fixation bony fragments repair. At final follow-up, both had functional digital range motion. Conclusions: OA capitate is relatively rare may as atraumatic attritional wear when associated fragmentation.

Heterotopic ossification typically occurs after a systemic inflammatory process and may lead to limitations in range of motion, depending on its severity. We present the case 52-year-old male who developed left shoulder pain stiffness prolonged hospitalization for treatment COVID-19. Subsequent imaging revealed formation bone extra-osseous sites surrounding his joint, which led auto-fusion glenohumeral joint. He underwent heterotopic excision reverse total arthroplasty order restore...

We describe a case of 9-year-old boy who presented with left calf mass consistent alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma involving the Achilles tendon. The patient underwent radical resection tendon and allograft reconstruction. At 2.5-year follow-up, child had full ankle range motion strength no signs disease. Radical in setting malignancy reconstruction is rare procedure that has not been previously described pediatric population. Orthopaedic oncologists can consider this option for malignancies

The free vascularized osteocutaneous flap from the medial femoral condyle is an attractive option for limb salvage given its low donor morbidity site and reliable vascular supply. Its use was originally described of nonunions with small bony defects has shown results a variety reconstructive needs. We present case female patient who underwent two corticoperiosteal grafts to her right ulna during separate surgeries treatment consecutive ulnar shaft nonunions. had prior malignant soft tissue...
