We reviewed the outcomes in men treated with permanent prostate brachytherapy (PPB).A total of 1,449 consecutive patients a mean age 68 years PPB between 1992 and 2000 pretreatment specific antigen (PSA) 10.1 ng/ml were included this study. Of 55% presented Gleason 6 tumors 28% had 7 disease. A 400 (27%) neoadjuvant hormones 301 (20%) combination external radiation plus PPB. Several biochemical freedom from recurrence (BFR) definitions determined. Statistical analysis consisted log rank...

Abstract Purpose: Lignans such as secoisolariciresinol diglucoside in flaxseed, are metabolizes to bioactive mammalian lignans of END and ENL. Because have chemical structural similarity the natural estrogen, they thought behave like selective estrogen receptor modulators therefore anticancer effect against hormone-related cancers. We isolated a series lignan compounds, named Vitexins, from seed Chinese herb Vitex Negundo. Experimental Design: purified several Vitexin compounds. Cytotoxic...
