Since the dawn of agriculture, crop yield has always been impaired through abiotic stresses. In a field trial across five locations worldwide, we tested three stresses, nitrogen deficiency, drought and salinity, using HEB-YIELD, selected subset wild barley nested association mapping population HEB-25. We show that flowering time genes Ppd-H1, Sdw1, Vrn-H1 Vrn-H3 exert pleiotropic effects on plant development grain yield. Under conditions, these are strongly influenced by environmental cues...

Abstract fused (fu) is a segment polarity gene that encodes putative serine/threonine kinase. A complete suppressor of the embryonic and adult phenotypes fu mutants, Suppressor (Su(fu)), was previously described. The amorphic Su(fu) mutation viable displays no phenotype by itself. We have used this as tool to perform genetic dissection gene. Analysis interaction between 33 alleles shows they belong three different classes. Defects due class I are fully suppressed Su(fu). Class II lead new in...

Abstract Suppressor of fused, Su(fu), was identified as a semi-dominant suppressor the putative serine/threonine kinase encoded by segment polarity gene fused in Drosophila melanogaster. The amorphic Su(fu) mutation is viable, shows maternal effect and displays no phenotype itself. mutations are often found associated to karmoisin (kar) but two complementation groups can be clearly identified. By using differential hybridization screening method, we have cloned region chromosomal...

Purpose This research examines how bank competition and corporate social responsibility (CSR) affect the stability of Vietnamese commercial banks. Design/methodology/approach Utilizing data collected from 24 banks spanning period 2015 to 2022, paper employs two-step system generalized method moments (SGMM) regression find impact CSR on banks’ in Vietnam. Findings The key findings are (1) increased boosts stability; (2) economic environmental initiatives adversely stability, while has a...

Basil (Ocimum basilicum L.), a popular herbal plant, is known for its ornamental and therapeutic importance. It has been described as having antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, hepatoprotective, immunomodulatory, antihyperglycemic, antimicrobial properties. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of some factors on rosmarinic acid concentration antioxidant activity basil extract, such samples, solvents (water 50% ethanol), solvent-to-sample ratios (from 1:20 1:70 g/mL), extraction temperature...

Three flavone-C-glycosides-cassiaoccidentalin A (1), isovitexin (2) and isoorientin (3)-were isolated from the ethyl acetate (EtOAc) soluble fraction of methanol crude extract African medicinal plant Biophytum umbraculum, This is first report these compounds in this plant. All were identified by spectroscopic analysis comparison with published data. Isoorientin (3) EtOAc showed greatest antioxidant activity DPPH assay as well strongest inhibition xanthine oxidase (XO) 15-lipoxygenase...

This paper presents a national analysis of urban housing pathways. Focussing on the social sector, we follow tenants as they move into, out of, and remain in, sector over 15 years. Utilising linked actuarial dataset, reveals typology pathways, examines relationship between pathways receipt broader government welfare. We find that not only is there no one pathway in Australia; at different times household’s career, may be used by them momentary stepping-stone, safety net, or springboard.

Each food product has distinct characteristics. Selecting appropriate storage conditions for each is essential to minimize quality degradation and extend its shelf life. This study focused on understanding how different packaging materials temperatures influence the quality, longevity of spiced Sergestid shrimp, determining optimal inhibit microbial activity, prevent moisture absorption, while still preserving maximum astaxanthin content. Polyethylene bags with an aluminum film (Al/PE), PET...

Walnuts are known to be a rich source of polyphenols and omega-3 fatty acids. Previous studies have indicated that walnut extracts contain substances anticancer properties. In our study, we prepared California walnuts (Juglans sp.), tested them for activity against the human breast cancer cell line MDA-MB 231. The cells were treated with chromatographic fractions counted percent viability using Trypan blue staining. crude extract was partitioned hexane, ethyl acetate aqueous methanol; these...
