Almost all submarine pipelines are currently laid on the sea floor. This practice is inherently expensive and system difficult to maintain has a high possibility of excessive bending stress. The concept suspending pipeline under ocean surface investigated in reported study. An optimum design algorithm developed which can minimize dynamic oscillation tensile stress resulting from wave excitation. Numerical examples given illustrate optimization procedure.
