A multilevel microfabrication process has been developed to produce silicon Fresnel lenses for terahertz waves. repeated binary fabrication was used create with up eight levels in complexity and these have compared both less complex structures refractive optic lenses. The required deep reactive ion etching resist processing using SU8 photoresist. At the design frequency of 1 THz an eight-level lens showed significant improvement intensity at focus had much reduced energy lost into sidelobes
