Tetraphenylethane-1,2-diylbis(phosphoramidate) in conjugation with a room temperature ionic liquid chloroform medium is reported for the first time liquid-liquid extraction of thorium (Th). The extracted Th(IV) collected as white solid organic medium, thereby facilitating its easy separation.
