Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the foveal changes occurring in multiple evanescent white dot syndrome (MEWDS) using multimodal imaging techniques with a specific focus on hyper-reflective dots (HRDs). Methods: This retro-prospective observational including 35 eyes active MEWDS. Structural and en face optical coherence tomography (OCT) performed, follow-up visits at 2 weeks, 6 months from baseline. HRD percentage area (HRD % area) calculated 600 µm fovea centered circle...

To longitudinally investigate choroidal and choriocapillaris perfusion metrics the number of hyperreflective foci (HRF) in patients with acute leukaemia (AL) before after disease remission to correlate these systemic parameters during active disease.Prospective, longitudinal study 26 eyes 14 AL patients. All underwent optical coherence tomography (OCT) OCT-angiography (OCTA) phase. Subfoveal thickness (CT), total, luminal stromal area (TCA, LCA, SCA), vascularity index (CVI), flow deficits...

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate factors associated with drusenoid pigment epithelium detachment (dPED) growth rate, incidence dPED collapse, and retinal (RPE) atrophy enlargement rate following collapse their impact on visual acuity (VA). Methods: This a retrospective longitudinal 44 eyes. Serial spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) fundus autofluorescence (AF) imaging were performed. Qualitative features quantitative dPED-related metrics assessed....

ABSTRACTIntroduction Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD) is one of the leading causes irreversible visual acuity reduction among elderly population. Dry AMD, most frequent AMD form, characterized by photoreceptor loss, Retinal Pigmented Epithelium (RPE) dysfunction and retinal degeneration. Although in last years several clinical trials have been carried out many therapeutic molecules examined to treat dry currently its treatment remains unsatisfactory.Areas covered In this review we...
