We report the discovery of an extended very-high-energy (VHE) gamma-ray source around location middle-aged (207.8 kyr) pulsar PSR J0622+3749 with Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory (LHAASO). The is detected a significance $8.2\sigma$ for $E>25$~TeV assuming Gaussian template. best-fit (R.A., Dec.)$=(95^{\circ}\!.47\pm0^{\circ}\!.11,\,37^{\circ}\!.92 \pm0^{\circ}\!.09)$, and extension $0^{\circ}\!.40\pm0^{\circ}\!.07$. energy spectrum can be described by power-law index ${-2.92 \pm...
A data-driven energy scan in the immediate vicinity of τ pair production threshold has been performed using Beijing Spectrometer at Electron-Positron Collider. Approximately 5 pb−1 data, distributed over 12 points, have collected. previous mass value for lepton, obtained only eμ final state, published. In this paper, BES result on measurement is presented. The analysis based combined data from ee, eμ, eh, μμ, μh, and hh states, where h denotes a charged π or K. maximum likelihood fit to...
The mass of the τ lepton has been measured at Beijing Electron-Positron Collider using Spectrometer. A search near threshold for e+e−→τ+τ− was performed. Candidate events were identified by requiring that one decay via τ→eνν¯, and other τ→μνν¯. value, obtained from a fit to energy dependence τ+τ− cross section, is mτ=1776.9+0.4−0.5±0.2 MeV.Received 7 August 1992DOI:https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevLett.69.3021©1992 American Physical Society
Adult spatial and social relationships in a marked population of black-lipped pikas (Ochotona curzoniae) were studied during the reproductive season from April to July near Qinghai Lake, People's Republic China. Families occupied relatively discrete home ranges that contained burrow system with many entrances continuous alpine-meadow habitat. Some systems monogamous pair breeding adults; others one male controlled access two or more females. During period, adult males vigorously guarded...
We report the discovery of a new unidentified extended $γ$-ray source in Galactic plane named LHAASO J0341+5258 with pre-trial significance 8.2 standard deviations above 25 TeV. The best fit position is R.A.$=55.34^{\circ}\pm0.11^{\circ}$ and Dec$=52.97^{\circ}\pm0.07^{\circ}$. angular size $0.29^\circ \pm 0.06^\circ_{stat} \pm0.02^\circ_{sys}$. flux TeV about $20\%$ Crab Nebula. Although power-law spectrum from 10 to 200 photon index $α=2.98 0.19_{stat} 0.02_{sys}$ not excluded, data...
The core-collapse supernova remnant (SNR) Cassiopeia A (Cas A) is one of the brightest galactic radio sources with an angular radius $\sim$ 2.5 $\arcmin$. Although no extension this source has been detected in $\gamma$-ray band, using more than 1000 days LHAASO data above $\sim 0.8$ TeV, we find that its spectrum significantly softer those obtained Imaging Air Cherenkov Telescopes (IACTs) and flux near 1$ TeV about two times higher. In combination analyses 16 years \textit{Fermi}-LAT...
The Beijing Spectrometer (BES) experiment has observed purely leptonic decays of the ${D}_{s}$ meson in reaction ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{D}_{s}^{+}{D}_{s}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ at a c.m. energy 4.03 GeV. Three events are which one hadronically to $\ensuremath{\varphi}\ensuremath{\pi}$, ${\overline{K}}^{*0}K$, or ${\overline{K}}^{0}K$, and other leptonically $\ensuremath{\mu}{\ensuremath{\nu}}_{\ensuremath{\mu}}$...
The Beijing Spectrometer (BES) Collaboration has observed exclusive pair production of ${\mathit{D}}_{\mathit{s}}$ mesons at the Electron-Positron Collider (BEPC) a center-of-mass energy 4.03 GeV. are detected in \ensuremath{\varphi}${\mathrm{\ensuremath{\pi}}}^{+}$, K\ifmmode\bar\else\textasciimacron\fi{} $^{\mathrm{*}0}$${\mathit{K}}^{+}$, and $^{0}$${\mathit{K}}^{+}$ decay modes; two fully reconstructed events yield value...
Reactive multilayer films (RMFs), a type of nanostructured energetic material, are recognized as an indispensable component for laser-driven flyer plate initiator systems. In this work, Al/Ti-RMF with three different modulation periods (600, 300, and 150 nm) were prepared integrated into plates, material optimized performance flyers was obtained. Cross-sectional observations demonstrate that the RMF precisely regulated, thickness errors falling within 3.4%. The velocity plates significantly...
Using 773 muons found in hadronic events from 142 ${\mathrm{pb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ of data at a c.m. energy 57.8 GeV, we extract the cross section and forward-backward charge asymmetry for ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}b\overline{b}$ process, heavy quark fragmentation function parameters Peterson model. For analysis use method which behavior $c$ lighter quarks is assumed, with only that $b$ left indeterminate. The are to be ${R}_{b} = 0.57 \ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}...
We report on a measurement of the forward-backward charge asymmetry in e+e−→q¯q at KEK TRISTAN, where is near maximum. sum over all flavors and measure by determining quark jets. In addition we exploit flavor dependencies jet determination to enhance contributions certain flavors. This provides check asymmetries individual The agrees with standard model expectations.Received 11 August 1993DOI:https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevD.49.3098©1994 American Physical Society
We present a study of differential two jet ratios in multi-hadronic final states produced by e+e− annihilation the AMY detector at TRISTAN. The data are compared to predictions next-to-leading logarithm parton-shower (NLL PS) Monte Carlo and O(αs2) matrix element QCD models. determine strong coupling strength αs(57.3 GeV) = 0.130 ± 0.006.
