In this paper, an on-chip silicon polarization beam splitter using a particle-swarm-optimized counter-tapered directional coupler is proposed, designed, and fabricated. The coupling length of the proposed device only 5 µm. An expedient synthesis of benzo[c][1,2]dithiol-3-ones via metal-free denitrogenative transannulation benzotriazinones is developed, which represents the first example acid-mediated heteroannulation benzotriazinones.
